Pours a hazy golden hue with a lasting head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of bubblegum, floral and herbal hops, honeydew, anise and corriander, orange zest, sublime brett character, and oh did I say bubblegum? The taste starts with a wonderful apple twang followed closely by bready yeasty character. The finish is quite peppery and even a a touch woody even though I don’t think it is barrel aged. The feel is lively and refreshing, very carbonated. This beer was a bit of a shocker, didn’t think it would be so good. Yummy and would like to try it again. I guess Pailhead would agree... Pours a hazy cloudy dull orange with a white head. Lots of bubble gum up front. Finishes with a decent banana presence and touch of tartness. A light citrus hides in the background along with a light yeastiness. Can’t think of any beer I’ve ever had that had such a strong bubble gum character to it. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2005 An unclear dark orange beer. The aroma is of peach and spices - of which coriander stands out. The flavor is very spicy, but also with notes of peaches and caramel, leading to an end where the hops dries out the mouth. willblake (2190), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Very serious gusher; I had to pour the entire bottle at once into a few glasses. So clouded is this golden brew (I remember it being much more clear many months ago), it looks like a weisse beer beneath its sizeable head. Clearly infected, funky and sour nose, but it’s not at all become off-putting. Lots of Belgian yeasty notes come through, tropical fruits, barn, leather, lemon juice. Body is light, effy; nice citrus bite with even more melon and more mixed fruits. Very dry to finish. Mineral undertones throughout. This beer seems to have improved after almost a year in the bottle. I’ve got one more bottle that I may sock away for another year, just to see... dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

Great carbonation keeps a thin foam on top. Fruity, spicy, yeasty aroma. Little orange. Color is a medium golden orange. Spicy flavor with plenty of pepper. Fizzy in the mouth. Has a kick of more than 6% ABV. Some yeast and grain notes. Thin flavor. Strange spicy finish and aftertaste. Not one of their better brews. Not bad but just a little different. Bet then again, all of their brews are different.
Sampled an older bottle that was turning considerable more sour. Lots of horseblanket and some funky cheese. Still has great big carbonation. Very dry and puckering with some sour pears and yeast. 5000 (2634), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2005 Bottle pours a hazy golden, large white rocky head, strong carbonation, with attractive lacing.   Candy sweetness on the nose.   Slightly aromatic, floral, and a bit tart as well.   Some barnyard or horseblanket immediately up front as I take my first sip.   Sweet, but not as much as the aroma suggests.   Slightly tart, with a minor musty/earthy flair.   Enjoyable body, spritzy mouthfeel.   Finishes slightly dry, semi-sweet, with a slight apple like tartness.   Not half bad for a U.S. brewer.   Thanks goes out to Eyedrinkale for the trade!
