Barnyard scents with a flemish sour aroma. Light-bodied; Heavily carbonated with a good sweetness and residual tartness. Overall, great to try and a decent flavour throughout. I sampled this 75 cL bottle at the November RB party at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2004. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA

Heavyweight rarely brews a beer that is less than great, but we may have found their achilles heel. Amply fruity, and overly carbonated, this was a gusher. Medium bodied and tart, this cloudy maize-colored brew just did not excite me like other Heavyweights. Aging it for a few weeks settled the tarness down, and made for a far more enjoyable quaff. hopscotch (5525), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2004 Hazy, golden ale with a small, frothy, white head. Good retention and nice lacing. Yeasty and citrusy aroma and flavor. Oaky and vineous... Chardonnay. A touch tart and tangy. Light to medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Short, fruity, mildly bitter finish. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Aroma was very barnyard like, sour, funky, hint of fruitiness with definite wood characteristics. Tart and sour dominate the flavor with some light herbal, light bready, lemony notes to boot. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, bitter-sweet, drying finish. Interesting for sure.... ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2004 750mL bottle @ the gathering. Peachy yellow/orange, good white head retained. Notes of sharp, acidic fruit esters, lots of yeast and some very dry earthy notes. Very acidic and assaulting up front. Strangely vinous, but it’s white grapes. I have the word Chardonnay in large capital letters in my notes and that’s what it reminds me of, lightly oaky, vinous and has some semi-dry peach notes. All in all it’s too much of a mix between acidic fruits, dry grape notes and dry yeast. Medium-light body, moderate carbonation. Sure is experimental. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA

Taste is big sour and tart upfront, nice initial funk, bit fruity and grassy with a few hops. egajdzis (3636), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2004 Poured a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head and nice lacing on the glass. Funky, dry, brett and citrus aroma... very Orval-esque. Taste was sweet malt, light citrus (orange, lemon), brett and a light hoppiness. Comparable to the McKenzie Trappist Pale Ale. argo0 (6978), Washington DC, USA
