| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Pours a lightly effervescent golden with a fizzy white head. Slightly funky, earthy noble hoppy aroma has some gritty sugary caramel character. Starts lightly sugary sweet with some dry, earthy bittering hoppy balance and a drier bittersweet, lingering finish. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Bottle 1814 from Super Saver, Somervile, NJ. This one pours turbid orangy with aromas of bready malt, citrusy hops, and some floral and spicy hints. The palate is fairly dense and tart, and the flavor is hoppy and citric and on the dry side, and gets drier as it warms. There is some creamy, malty, breadiness at mid-palate. Sort of like a strong lager/impy pils hybrid, this style is unique and recommended. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2006 Bottle DL day: I didn’t take a lot of notes on this for some reason, so a quick run down of what I did have. Slightly murky golden hue and nice frothy head. The aroma is bitter British hops and grassy Continental hops along with biscuity malt. The flavor is smooth and bitter but not aggressive, tasty. The feel is crisp and clean, a good session bier. Overall, a solid brew I would try again.
