Commercial Description:
The Gotland, or Viking beer has been extinct for some time... or has it? The ingredients: Smoked, pale, rye, wheat, and sour malts. Juniper, German hops, Blessed Thistle, Bog Myrtle, bread yeast, and birch bark... all aged in whisky wood. We bet you never tasted anything quite like it.

Bottle. Courtesy of Jimmack. Pours light brown with orange hues. The aroma of this beer is minty! If you really put your nose in it its a little like vicks(R). The flavor is sour, smoky minty, wheat and light fruit. It finishes crisp and clean i wonder if its the juniper berries. Really good and different!

Bottel from Dinkinsonbeer, thanks! Orange brown color, no head. Ginger, orange marmelade and a hint of smoke in the aroma. A most odd combination of fruity sourness and smoke in the flavor. Orange marmalade, twigs, ginger, raspberry, lemon and grapefruit sourness. Rye. Syrupy mouthfeel. Some mango and pear sweetness. I love this rather complex beer!

Courtesy Dickinsonbeer. This one poured coppery orange color with a thin white head. The aroam was very interesting in this one. I pick up smells of fruits, vegetables, some sourness, and also a weird smell of pepto. The flavor is very strange as well with fruits, vegetables, clove and mint, and also some tree bark. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation that went down smooth. This was an interesting beer for sure, but it was good.

Bottle, thanks to someone. Light orange pour, no head. Aroma is aged malt, tart fruit, smoky a little. Flavor is the same sort of aged / oxidized malt that I have noticed in all the Heavyweight beers. There is also some sweet malt and citrus to it.

750ml Bottle: Sour aroma. Smells of spices, sour mix, rye, wood, medicine, and alcohol. Poured orange with a hint of amber in color and no head at all. Cloudy. Many large and small particles throughout. Lightly sour, lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of smoke, sour mix, rye, spices, juniper, citrus, and bread. Medium body. Thin, watery, dryish texture. No carbonation at all. Sour, dry finish. A very complex beer.

Shared with emerica56. This one definitely took me off guard. Poured out a flat-looking transluscent, murky orange elixer with no head at all. The aroma is sour, tart and herbal, with notes of tangerine, heather, cough syrup, smoke snd rye bread. The flavour is equally unique, initially giving the impression of tart fruits and mint mid-palate, but on the finish giving the distict impression of herbal tobacco. I feel like I’m packing a lip of skoal peach! The bready, smokey and woody finish clashes with the tart fruity (peach and apricot) flavours. The aftertaste is peppery and spicy, as well as herbal. There is a lot going on here, I’d say too much. The carbonation is so faint that it might as well not be there. Definitely a palate-expanding experience, and a real treat, as this is a rarity.

A nice 750ml bottle that i got in a trade from Dickinsonbeer for the holidays, Thanks paul. It pours a cloudy and kind of merkey cider like orange color with no had or laceing. the aroma is very tart and some either stale fruits mainly fig and some hints of orange and apricot. The flavor is very distinct and mildly tart with a strong flavor of chewing tobacco and some hints of mint which fade very quick. The palate has some trace hints of apple which is nice but that tobacco is a strong flavor and never leaves your mouth.
