Poured a hazy copper color with a minimal off-white head. Interesting aroma with notes of tobacco, spearmint and spices. Light malty flavor with minty notes and a mild bitter finish. Reminded me of chewing tobacco pouches.

kp’s Fest of 26 Pours with a fleeting white head over a clear, medium amber body. Aroma of malt and plenty of smoke. Smoky, with a sweetness that develops into the finish.

A murky orange appearance with no head. The aroma is very spiced filled complete with some Andies mint, ginger, and tobacco. Like sniffing a box of Newports or something. WTF. The flavor consists of mint, ginger, caramel, cinammon, and mint. Ho Ho Ho Merry freaking Christmas with all this mint and spice. Well I guess Santa has good a wad of snuff in his mouth because I taste tobacco as well. They are right Ive tasted nothing like it! Pass.

Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. Pours the color of muddy pond water with no head at all. Very Listerine-like. is there juniper here? This seems to have strange roots in the potion. Very odd, but a mezmerizing aroma. Could any of these ingredients be poisonous?

Draft at DRE event. Hazy deep coppery brownish pour with minimal head. Aroma of bready malt, sligh rauchy notes, plus a spicy floral minty note, and a bit of sassafras. The flavor was very unique, with bready malt intermingled with some spicy hops, fruity mint, and rye bready notes, plus some smoky, and floral notes. This one kicked before I could get a second glass, which sucks.

Cask. Poured a deep amber color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of juniper, smoke, rye, and gin. Tastes of gin, wood, smoke, light vanilla and some citrus. Had a medium sour and light alcohol finish. Very strong Gin quality to it - if you like Gin, this would have been the one for you.

Hazy rufous. Thin ring of head. Strong birch, smoke, dried peach, and clove aromas leap from the glass. Base is very bright. Lifeless carbonation. Slick and fairly full, though. Opens with an enticingly sweet and tart medley of flavors ranging from green raisins to vanilla-caramel. Mellow smokiness accompanies the slick fruitiness and cool breaths of evergreen and juniper. Lack of carbonation does little to carry the tongue-coating fullness or enhance the flavors. Very invigorating and uplifting, still, with an abundance of candied mint leaves and sassy juniper. Whisper of honey imparts a dainty sweetness as well as a silky texture which underlines the cool heat of the added spices. Finishes vinous and quite long with a lightly caremlized malt sweetness kissed with evergreen and deeply buried clove flavors. The minuscule carbonation is a bit of a letdown, but talk about an enjoyably wacky brew.

Last HWOH tap. This was poured with very low carbonation, murky cloudy deep copper with a thin dissipating head. Aroma is juniper, mint, light smoke, phenolics, light medicinal qualities, herbal and somewhat sweet. Flavor has a bit more smoke to it, but still is subdued and lets the juniper, and other herbal notes come out. Slightly woody- birch bark is apparent as moslty minty- birchbeer soda quality. Aftertaste is a bit slick, slightly sweet, lightly bitter and somewhat astringent, but still relatively smooth and not too hard to drink. Probably could only drink 1 full glass of this, and not the whole bottle though. Very cool idea for a beer though.
