Jul 22, 2006 RBSG - 06 - Coppery, thin white head. Crazy nose on this of smoked twigs, trees, and juniper. Tasted just the same with additional earthy and herbal tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, earthy, smokey, woodsy finish. Interesting, complex, and damn tasty...

Jul 18, 2006 Had this unusual brew on tap at Heavyweight. Cloudy amber with the aroma of sour vegetables. Tastes sour and strong and invites sipping as if it was a liquor. Flavors of strange and exotic herbs and spices spin through my head as I slowly imbibe this drink. There seems to be no carbonation as the alcohol breaks through to even itself with the vegetables. This beer probably deserves a higher rating than I can give it this early in my drinking career. I would love to try it again in a few years after my palate has developed further.

Jul 18, 2006 Pours out a cloudy copper color with a small lacing head. Aroma is mostly earthy with notes of burnt wood. The mouthfeel is not overlly heavy for the gravity of the beer. Taste is sweet at first then balanced out by smoky/toasty earth flavors. Strange beer, but I think I liked it

Jul 18, 2006 Draught at Heavyweight. Hazy, warm amber body with a minimal soapy head. Completely unique aroma of perfumy juniper and cedar, wood smoke, sour malt, rye bread, and peppermint. Flavor has medium candy-like sweetness that covers some of the characters in the nose, but herbal, minty, and woodsy qualities emerge. A distinct, creative, and interesting beer.

Jul 18, 2006 Bottle... RBSG2006... Cloudy amber ale with a small, white, fizzy head. Gone in a flash. Smells odd, but nice and refreshing. I dig it... menthol, lavender, oak, smoke, evergreen, maybe more. Tangy flavor with herbal and medicinal spices and/or esters. Weird... in a weird way. Medium-bodied and creamy with pillow-soft carbonation. Herbal, tangy, then very dry finish. Strange brew, this. However, worth a try if you can find it. Thanks richlikebeer!

Jul 17, 2006 Cloudy amber with a small head. Really bizarre aroma. Spruce tips or juniper seem to be the dominant flavoring and there’s a bit of sour funk. A touch minty. Slightly sour flavor. Too much going on here to describe well. Wouldn’t be able to drink a lot of it, but I’m glad i got to try it. Thanks to ungstrup (jens) who helped me pronounce this bad boy and was a pretty cool guy to talk to this weekend.
