Bottled. A hazy amber beer with no head. The aroma has notes of wood, fruit, and heather, as well as light smokey notes. The flavor is sweet and very smokey, combined with notes of over ripe peaches, leading to a dry and rather bitter finish. The body is powerful and the alcohol burns slightly in the throat. Very interesting - very complex.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of pineypower. Pours a hazy, amber golden with a basically absent head. Odd chemical or herbal AND smoked aroma. Medium body, completely flat with herbal accents, acidic and smoked. I detect ginger and perhaps some licorice and citrus. Very odd and flawed and pointing in all directions. But interesting at least. 100507

(RBSG06, 750ml bottle) Cloudy amber body with no head. Aroma is medium sweet, herbal, light smoke. Taste is moderately sweet, berry, lemon. Watery medium body, no carbonation, light acidity.

Bottel from Dinkinsonbeer, thanks! Orange brown color, no head. Ginger, orange marmelade and a hint of smoke in the aroma. A most odd combination of fruity sourness and smoke in the flavor. Orange marmalade, twigs, ginger, raspberry, lemon and grapefruit sourness. Rye. Syrupy mouthfeel. Some mango and pear sweetness. I love this rather complex beer!

Cask. Poured a deep amber color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of juniper, smoke, rye, and gin. Tastes of gin, wood, smoke, light vanilla and some citrus. Had a medium sour and light alcohol finish. Very strong Gin quality to it - if you like Gin, this would have been the one for you.

A nice opportunity to sample this rarity! Thanks Henrik. A headless pale copper pour. Very phenolic aroma has a both a strong yeasty and spicy feel to it. Initially taking a certain leathery, softly apricot touched smoky path, but the advancing oxidation and flatness dull everything out and replaces with a very sweet, yet rather astringent woodiness that pairs with the juicy oranges to feel both tart and incoherent. Citrusy and floral, minty.. Chaotic really. Never simple, but never united.

Sampled on 7/15/06 at the RBSG ’06 Grand Tasting: Pours a murky orange brown with little to no head. Strange, complex tart and very smoky juniper aroma. Body starts with a pleasant sweet viscous maltiness and some tart, light fruity notes with a touch of salty smoke, some clover honey and good complexity. Finishes bittersweet, warming and with a touch of black pepper. A very unique and enjoyable brew.
