axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2005 Drafting Room. Poured a golden body with a small white head. A fruity nose with some yeast. Sweet fruity flavor up front with a good bit of spice and a yeasty finish. A Very good ale. hopdog (5525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2005 On tap at the Drafting Room in Exton, PA. According to Tom, he does these ICE beers as one offs for certain clients (there was only 1 keg of this batch done for the Drafting Room). He guestimated, based on volume, that this was between 10% - 11%. Poured a medium golden color with a very small sized head. This one smelled and tasted better as it warmed up. Aromas and tastes of fruits, spices, and light yeast. Medium sweet. Light alcohol in the finish and smooth to drink. egajdzis (3598), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2005 Poured a golden color with a small, thin, off white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, yeast, citrus fruits, peat, honey, and alcohol. Taste of tons of citrus fruitiness, some honey, grains, lots of spices, some dry yeast, and peppery alcohol in the finish. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Nov 11, 2004 My understanding is that since this was brewed just for a festival, it shouldn’t be on the site but I’m going to rate it anyway. After having a few samples of this at the Heavyweight booth at the BBF, I left scratching my head once again at one of Toms concoctions. Is it very good? Unique? Would I drink a 12 oz serving? The awnser is yes to all of the above questions. The beer starts off with a solvent aroma but the taste becomes smooth and yeasty. Nice gueuze tartness that warms the palate. Body is medium and the finish has a lingering astringency. Well done indeed. Tom is a mad scientist. Right up there with his best stuff. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Nov 9, 2004 2004 Draught @ BBF. Dark yellow color, with some beige and oranges swirling about. Quite clouded with little to no head. Aroma of stiff, pungent alcohol, lightly sour yeast and a strongly bitter citrus presence. Flavor is sweet and yet sour, with tons of yeast, a stiff, large, malty body. Notes of dark fruits abound, with a big bitter citrus attack balanced by a large sweet malt presence. What’s not balanced is the alcohol presence, which is intense and burning. It’s an interesting sipper, but it gets too sweet and alcoholic. Delicate this is not.
