Tastes stronger than the 9.5% in the description. Aroma is dusty aged oranges. Taste is a wonderful (almost barkeywine) sweet ale. This is fantastic. Thanks Tom. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 12, 2004 just bought the variety pack 1/04 and were 4 of these. definitely a change from the more lemony taste of the lunacy. reminds me of binchiose noel or victory v12, a little syrupy with an appropriate alcohol taste. wonderful poundcake like flavor in there. recommended highly if you can find some! apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 4, 2006 At the Heavyweight Open House. Thanks, FrumptyDumpty! A pleasant change from the original Lunacy. This was sweet and fruity, yet well-spiced. Vanilla is a predominant flavor, as is honey. I really found this one delicious. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2004 Updated: Jul 1, 2006(Brewed June 2000) Had to really work to get a head on this beer. Remained thin with almost no carbonation. Great aroma of apricots, grapes (wine) and spices. Tried this again 2 years latter and there was a BIG vanilla aroma to the brew this time. Color is a slightly cloudy dark orange. Wow, good $hit. Alcohol kicks you in the mouth. Seems like more than 9.5%. Burns and warms as it goes down. Flavor is a little weak but what is there is good. More fruit and spices. The alcohol hides some of the flavor though. Finish is dry and slightly bitter but leaves a great sensation in the mouth. Would love to try this on draft to see if the carbonation is still present. Still, a great belgian that they should make all of the time. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA

Had this one at Andy's Pub in NJ, which I thought was the only place that had it. Now that I know otherwise I'll have to horde this stuff for myself if I could find it. Hoppy spicy, malty and wine flavors. Finishes crisp, clean, and smooth. Dickinsonbeer (3451), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2006 12 oz thanks to frumpty at HWOH. Pours a medium to light amber , mostly hazy with a nice off white head. Aroma is initially of ginger and other herbal and earthy spices, phenols and yeasty aromas with some mild fruity esters. Light vanilla and clove phenols in there as well. Candy sugar flavor with a hint of alcohol in the end. Moslty light dulll earthy yeast and lightly bready. For being so old, it still has a pretty decent body and oxidation hasnt quite set in yet. Very nice belgian strong. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA

Thanks Ryan! egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2006 Poured a hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of green apple, cinnamon, caramel malts, toffee, and some honey as well. Taste was sweet, with more honey, a tart citrus, dry yeast, and a slightly alcoholic finish.
