Commercial Description:
Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet malt and subtle fruit.

RBSG 2005. Vintage 2001? Hazy pastel yellow with a small white head. Mild aroma with notes of citrus, yeast and muted spice. Flavour is a similar melange of spice, and yeast with slightly more prominent citrus – lemon – in a fairly light palate. Would like to try a fresh batch now that I have had the treat of a cellared version.

Pours golden, with a small white lasting head, nice aroma fo spice, taste is smooth with a little bite reminds of a beer somewhere between a belgian stong ale and a oktoberfest, id say this is very drinkable.

Pours clear and golden until the yeast drops from the bottle. Small white head. Spicy and fruity aroma. Nice body. Clean finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a good initial head. Mmmmm, good initial head *slobbering noises*

Anyway, good musty aroma heavy on the orange peel and horseblanket with other citrus and floral hops and some yeastiness thrown in. First sip greets you with a dry sweetness that never really abates. It gets slightly sweeter and more vinous as it warms, but it lacks that oompf in other Belgians. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, just not "Oh my god" good. Thanks to jimmack04 for the trade

Pours a hazy dark yellow color with lots of rising carbonation bubbles and a nice amount of froathy white head. Aroma is floral and sweet with bits of raisin and pear, but no overpowering yeast or spice smell which i usually hate. Flavor is bittersweet, bananaish, with a spicey dry finish. Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste and I think it was the dry spice that turned me off.

12 oz bottle. Cloudy golden color with a small white head. Good lace even though the head dissipates fairly quickly. Extremely floral aroma along with quite a bit of fruit such as starfruit and grape. There is a sweet, alcohol flavor but it is balanced with some bitterness in the finish. The coriander is not that noticeable but that is fine. It does have a nice spicy flavor. It is very drinkable. Great beer.

Bottle: Slightly hazed golden hue with a fading but lasting fizzy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of corriander, leafy and fruity hops, bready malting, airy yeast esters, and a touch of belgain sugar. The taste starts spicy and moderately sweet with a fruity undertone. I found that the finish is dry and a bit hot. The feel is lively, aggressive, and leaves a warming feeling after finishing the drink. Good and should have some potential to age out. Would like to see what this is like in a few years.
