Commercial Description:
Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet malt and subtle fruit.

Very diminishing white head covers a light golden body with tiny yeast floaties. Malty aroma contains interesting pear notes, but little else. Floral and biscuity palate procures a mellow warming. What saves it from being redundant remains those not unpleasant cork notes that work pretty well with the leafiness and coriander flavours. Light-medium body, medium carbonation. Alright, but Heavyweight has proved it can do better at Belgians with its recent line of Saisons..

Poured golden and effervescent with a tall fizzy white head. Sweet aroma of apple cider, candy, tartness and a touch of cinnamon. Taste is apples, dry chardonnay, nutmeg, with a touch of sweetness and a pleasant dry finish. I’m somewhat surprised by the low score for this brew. I found it to be rich, well-crafted, and enjoyable.

tap at andy’s, a golden body with a fizzy white head, very spicy nose, peppery and sweet. flavor has some light citrus character and a very smooth transition to a spicy finish. pretty solid body for a belgian, but was a little high in the carbonation department. very enjoyable.

This begian style golden ale looks great in the glass with a nice white head which quickly faded. The aroma is light and citrusly showing some lemon and camomile. The taste was thicker than I was expecting showing some vanilla, orange peel, coriander and some rose. Mouth feel was very carbonated with no real aftertaste.

Pours a gloudy golden color and tastes lightly of coriander. I wasn’t impressed by this one.

Does Belgian Pilsner malt contain wheat? Swear this could be a heifenwiezan (probably spelled wrong). Of course, my sheer ignorance stops me from knowing these things. Nice color, kind of bigger head then I thought it would. Citrus flavor undercut by flower and vanilla. For 7 something percent, couldn’t really taste the alcohol. Really smooth. This would be a dangerous beer on the golf course.

Thanks to Lou for this bottle. poured kind of a strange cloudy yellow with a quickly fading head. the alcohol seems to overpower the flavors in this one. there are some mild hops and citrus flavors here . kinda different
