Commercial Description:
Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet malt and subtle fruit.

Hazy light amber supporting a sturdy white head and good lacing. Attention-getting aroma with plenty of spice, woods, citrus, alcohol & hops. Well balanced flavors with malty sweetness, hoppy bitteness and traditional Belgian white spices (coriander). Very little alcohol in the finish.

bottle courtesy of the_beer_god. very fizzy light orange color. lots of carbonation. interesting aroma that yields both sugar and lambic-like sourness. feels more in line with a farmhouse ale than a regular belgian. surprisingly (and pleasantly) mild for 7.7% and the goldings hops. slight spices show up later, but only quietly. a solid brew, very refreshing.

Big green fruits with a hint of vanilla and spice in the nose, cloudy golden with tight bubbles in the head. Spice lingers throughout.

Nice and cloudy, a really good-looking beer, I don’t mind saying. Tastes a bit spicy and strong - a definitely bold beer. I detected some slight souring, but it did not offset the malty or sweet flavour. Kind of fruity, but I can’t isolate which fruit - apricot maybe? Pours beautifully with a nice white head.

Interesting. Everyone says sweet, but my bottle is sour. I do taste the bananna. I like the strong flavor.

[12 oz. bottle] Pours a hazy amber color with a thick white head. Very nice fruity and citrus aroma with hints of coriander, banana, malt and yeast. Flavor is very sweet and malty with nice hints of banana and the coriander that was so prevalent in the aroma. The finish is smooth and warming and leaves a nice malty aftertaste. Very nice American Belgian.

Medium orange color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet with a touch of coriander and banana esters. A medium bodied Belgian ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, lots of banana and clove flavors. Coriander and clove. Lively carbonation. A touch yeasty. A nice not to complex Belgian. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

This was a pretty decent beer, but nothing that was too spectacular. Give it a try as it is not a beer you have to think about too much.
