Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a rich golden color with a large fluffy white head. The aroma was sweet, vaguely sour, fruity and had a touch of spice. The flavor was sweet, fruity and had a light spiciness that grew on the finish. A nice golden ale. boto (1345), Granby, Connecticut, USA

There was a small white head to it. The aroma had a sweetness to it. Malts, yeast and a bit of corriander make up the nose. The taste is mildly sweet, with a bit of spiciness from the corriander. Also a hiar yeasty. A good beer. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2004 Cloudy golden color with a nice thick white head that quickly dissipated. Spicy/sweet malt aroma with a hint of
coriander. Fruity and sweet on first sip,
then turning somewhat sour. Not bad,
but I’ve had much better beers from

Anyway, it had a loud pfftt when opened. No freshness date seen, but since the store I bought it from just started carrying it, I suspect it’s rather fresh. Poured out a hazy, murky golden yellow / orangish color, with a huge fizzy white head at first. It faded rather quickly back to a thin matting of foam on top of the beer. Not much lacing found here. Aromas are of fresh milled malts, yeasty biscuits, slight earthy hops, and spices. Corriander would be my guess. Mouthfeel is average, neither thin nor thick. Tastes are mostly of malts and spices, along with a yeasty bite towards the end. This beer is also highly carbonated, fizzy and lively. The alcohol is very well hidden, the only way I could tell this was nearly a 8% ABV beer was when the warming effect hit my stomach.
It has a certain spicy warmth to it, which is nice, actually.
Finishes on the dry side, with a tad of phenols making a brief appearance. A decent take on the style. TheBeerGod (3167), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2004 Pours a clouded orange-amber with a moderate tanned head. Aroma is nicely spiced with coriander, along with candy sugar, sweet malt, yeast and flowers. Taste reveals more of the coriander and yeast. Some mild fruit notes as well as fruit (banana). Hint of bubblegum as well. Almost like a rich hefeweizen blended with a Belgian. Palate has lively carbonation and duly spiced. Finish is wheaty with sweet malts and ripe fruit being prevalent. Good beer! The Heavyweight line has impressed me! Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 14, 2004 Was a nice gold/orange color with white head. Smelled but more so tasted a little fruity. There was a slight bitterness to it but seemed very subtle to me. Very nice beer to drink anytime. radiomgb (2068), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
