Commercial Description:
Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet malt and subtle fruit.

Cloudy deep gold color with a small white head that laces fairly well. An earthy, moldy citrus and spice aroma. Sweet and spicy flavor with an overlay that starts tart and a finishes sour. The tart and sour diminish as I drink it. Interesting beer, not bad, but some will not like this.

had a bottle of this at the grey lodge. quite an earthy aroma, with some clove and pepper. some brown sugar sweetness quickly yields to yeast tang, some baking soda, stewed apple, lightly lactic, interesting but a little flat

Hazy yellow out of the bottle with a white head like beaten egg whites. Yeasty alcoholic orange juice nose. Flavors of coriander, orange liquer, apricot, with noticable alcohol. Soft on the palate but with a distracting mouth-coating quality. Thanks to willblake for the bottle.

Hazy golden in color with no head. Aroma is yeasty and sour. The flavor is dominated by sour apple flavor and hints of spices. Alcohol is unnoticeable.

On draft at the Abbaye. Cloudy and muddy appearance, no head and no lace. Sharp yeasty scent. Pleasant first sip, fruity flavor - apples? By the last sip, however, the fruit was overwhelmed by pepper and hop bitters.

Very good beer. Is a dark Ale with significant taste. Is a little bit sweet which hides the higher alcohol content. Would buy this again. its great.
