Both the nose and flavor are very doughy, corn flavored, and a bit malty, but also rather sour; The flavor is also lightly bitter with mild spicy notes; 7.7% alcohol is masked quite well; Light to medium bodied with a spicy, carbonated palate; Golden color and fully cloudy, with only a very modest amount of sediment in the bottle; Pretty much no head whatsoever, but with a very small off-white ring around the glass, so obviously retention and lacing are not a factor here; Overall, it's a flavorful, but light beer, and definitely more American than Belgian, and in some aspects, reminds me of a few New England lagers I tried years ago; Even as the beer warms, the sourness sticks with the beer, and without that lingering sourness, this beer would be a better performer hopdog (5590), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2004 Poured a hazy orange color with almost no head. Aromas of grapefruits, limes, and spices. Sweet and spicy taste with a slight sour finish. Alcohol well hidden. Indra (2029), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2004 Lightly sweet, tangy, fruity nose, the coriander apparent as is some hop spiciness and having hints of doughy yeast, cider, orange peel, blueberry and dried apricot. Attractive medium golden orange color, dusty from sediment and hazy with a fine, slight head. Flavor profile is unique and intriguing, starting off sweet and sugary, the midpoint fruity and lightly tart and having a fairly large dose of coriander in the finish, which is also slightly minty and acidic with a lingering, juicy tinge of lemon. Body is medium-full, mouthfeel is somewhat thin but lively and complimenting the overall character by lending a refreshing effect. Actually quite good, though not necessarily something I would enjoy frequently. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2004 One of the more interesting American beers(interesting as in different) I’ve had. Aroma of Belgain ale, lemon, pepper, coriander, yeast and malty sweetness. Flavor is fruity and spicy. Finish is sweet. Marc (477), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2004 Yeast, dough, citrus, white grapes, lemon grass, cream, lemon merange, and grain in the nose. Muddy amber color with a thin white hat leaving a specled laceing. Peaches and cream, white pepper, yeast, apricot, orange julius, and a little spicieness and bell pepper. Finnishes spicey with coriander, sweet cream, dried bannana, and a wierd herbalness that I dont exactly disprove of. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2004 Hazy golden color, foamy off-white head. Aroma is heavy of fruit, malt, nut and plenty of alcohol. Flavor is a little thin penetrated by oranges and yeast with tones of hay. Quite evident alcohol. Fresh but not very complex. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2004 Pours clear golden in color with a small head. Head quickly subsides leaving a few bubbles floating.
Yeast and malt come through in the nose, and in the taste. Not very complex, a few hints of citrus come through.
Nice and light finish, alcohol hidden well.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2004 The aroma is powerful of coriander and black pepper. The color is an unclear orange and it has a fine disappearing head. The flavor is rather sweet with notes of alcohol, coriander, lemon, and acidity that runs over the tongue.
