Dark brown with a reddish hue and a small, light brown head. Roasted, slightly coffeeish nose. Medium body with rather sweet, roasted malt and a note of coffee without being overly burned. Subdued bitterness. Nice. 080707 yespr (12313), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Got one last bottle of this from MaxxDaddy - thanks! It’s just a bit past its prime right now, with a bit of tartness creeping into the rich and flavorful brew I’m so fond of. Thick and with a creamy mouthfeel, a touch of roast and anise among the chocolate malts. Fine stuff. HoppityHop (105), New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 26, 2007 In some ways, this Porter is fairly typical of the Baltic style, with a short tan head, dark fruit flavors, a bit of licorice, and little (if any) carbonation. A solid offering, that replicates it’s desired style fairly well..........yet something is missing. To this reviewer, it’s the lack of carbonation or any sort of Chocolate flavor. At 8%, I wanted to be able to throw in some sort of "not for lightweights" kind of joke, but on the contrary, I could see lots of lightweights drinking this, because it’s so Gawdawful sweet. Have no idea why "this" was the one resurrected by Victory? There are much better Baltic Porters coming out of Poland right now. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2007 Bottle courtesy of the FatKid. Pours a very close to black with a purplish tint to it. Smell is very baltic porterish. Plenty of alcohol and what I want to say is a kind of licorice smell. Taste is incredible deep and robust. It has a very creamy and smooth mouthfeel. This is a very good drinking beer that goes down way too easy.
Why oh why did this brewery close? MrBendo (1043), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Deep brown with a nearly large, cascading head. Spare lacing. Aroma is dusty with a little bit of roasted malt. Taste brings up the malt to dust ratio considerably, but all are still there. Tasted chocolate, roasted malt and attic dust. Strange but enjoyable flavor carbonation. Interesting, to be sure. Wish I’d have had it fresh. Can’t wait for Victory’s version. patrick767 (2037), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2007 sample from bottle at DLD - Pours very dark brown to black with a roast malt and dark fruit aroma. The flavor has the expected roast malt, some chocolate, and considerable raisin notes. It’s medium bodied and smooth on the palate with pretty solid balance and an enjoyable finish. Nice brew. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2007 Bottle from dickinsonbeer. Thanks Paul. Drank this a good amount when I used to live in Massachusetts. Was probably my introduction to balitic porters along with synebrychoff (or however you spell that). Pour is black as midnight with no stars, or streetlights. Shit is black. No head to speak of. Nose is roasted malts, raisins, a little smoke, cocoa. Flavor is heavy on chocolate, with some notes of coffee beans, vanila, and different malty flavors. A well done interpretation by a great brewery that is no more. Sad. Cheers Tom and Peggy!
