I forced this one into a rochefort trappist glass to get that little bit of mahogany foam to rise up and greet me. This is fairly bold in flavor, with nice chococofftoffee as usual. But it feels better balanced than others. The alcohol is well hidden, and the beer goes down smooth. A definite plus/ mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Feb 12, 2006 Pours to a jet black color, with a thick and creamy tan head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose is rich, and inviting, with aromas of dark chocolate, sweet malt, and light hints of coffee, and mild roast. The palate is firm, and polished. Very smooth mouthfeel, delivers lots of good dark malt, sweet malt, coffee, and roast. This beer finishes with good, smooth dark and sweet malt up front, then ends clean with a mild roasty bitterness. At 8% abv, a warming, comforting brew, perfect for the winter months. Well done domestic example of Baltic porter. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Brown black hued porter having a small diminishing head. No discernable carbonation. Sesame oil aroma. Medium-to-full bodied porter that starts with light malt sweetness and coffee/chocolate/roasted malt flavors. Finishes dry with light lingering bitterness and roasted malt flavor. Smooth and creamy texture. Full of flavor. This imperial porter is simply delicious. Thanks Thaichile! fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Tan head which foamed up right away then died down to managable levels. Aromas of caramel and fruit cocktail. Flavors of dark fruits, chocolate, some alcohol, and a bit of porter dustiness. Pretty yummy GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2006 A nice black pour whith a white head. Aroma was rather blah with hints of chocolate the stand out. Taste was a bit like soy sauce with some smokiness thrown in. Also some chocolate and maybe some dark fruit there. Nothing really exceptional, although I’d drink more of it. brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 6, 2006 Bottled. Pours black with a tan head. Not much aroma in comparison to an Impy Stout. Thin body, decent, malty flavor, but without the emphatic finish of a Russian Stout.
