| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2005 Trade from unknown person. The beer pours to a deep dark brown body that is clear. The aroma is raisins and dark fruity malts and chocolate. Very good. The flavor is charcoaled malts and light oaked chocolate. The palate is very creamy and thick with that charcoal feel. This is stupendous for a baltic porter! Thanks Heavyweight Brewing. This is good stuff. LePoopie (151), Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2005 Dark cola color with no head. Pretty strong malty aroma, it’s decent. Has a nice roasty, smoky flavor. Kind of a light body, with OK carbonation. Overall, it’s pretty decent. MrWalker (927), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2005 Bottle @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm It’s alot "home brew" in this. Burnt bacon and black malts in aroma and taste. A surprising chocolate taste initially. A slight acidity can be detected. Full body, but too much blackened bacon... | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2005 Surprisingly thin pour, with a dark chocolate center and ruby fringes. No head. Dusky old roasted coffee. Not the blasting fresh roast typical of Impies, but a more subdued aged coffee flavor, like that of old grounds or kahlua. This mingles and carols with a gentle bourbon and grandfather clock oak. Restrained by sugar. Interesting sourish and very woody flavor. This feels almost truly "Baltic" with some saltiness and some sour plantiness. Sweetness and sourness waltz across the palate with a wave of light nuttiness (like our President) a rounding oakiness. Not harsh, nor entirely truthful (ahem). But, in the end surprisingly yielding. Strong runs of bourbon vanilla and melting ice cream. Not a depthful beer, but a soft and gentle breeze of alcohol and gentle figginess. Palate has a dry pat, with some of the tingling sour notes to dance upon the throat. A little on the "fringe". Raison aroma, at least it seemed that way. for some reason i just wasn’t digging this one too much. Looked good, but didn’t taste all that great. jimbowood (983), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2005 Thanks to cornboy for this one. Pours black with a small, creamy white head with good lacing. Aroma is malty chocolate. Flavor is chocolate with hints of smoke with a mild metallic finish. Good, but not great. If you’re gonna call a beer "Hammer", it needs more alcohol punch.
