Pour is almost black, but with very little head. I don’t know if robust is a big enough word for the flavor of this beer...very full, with the tastes mirroring the aroma. The finish on this is great, the chocolate and coffee hold on and make the ending as smooth as the rest of the taste. The mouthfeel is thick and rich, almost begging you to chew on it before you swallow it. I went to college 5 minutes from this brewery, but graduated before they were open...if they had been open, I doubt I would have graduated. MaltOne (61), USA

This follows through to the taste, which just crosses the line with a touch of sweetness. Flavors again of molasses or treacle and a hint of licorice. An echo of bitter hops in the aftertaste. The sweet edge suggests some interesting pairing with foods - something to go with a a plum pudding or dark chocolate cake beerledgend (919), Waterloo, Wellington, New Zealand

DAMN… The body is sooo dark and the head is a billowing tower of dark tan fluff.. It looks ferocious! The aroma is heavy on chocolate malt.. and a notion of dark fruit. KAPOW!!! The flavor is a blast of chocolate, figs, candied dates, toffee.. It’s freaking huge! More notes of oak and vast mentions of vanilla.. chocolate malted milk balls.. and a hint of woodsy hops in the finish… but overall I’m finding one of the most robust and extremely delicious dark and malty brews I’ve sampled in some time! The muted sweet-chocolate aroma really makes you want to chug this bad boy down. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Nice coffee underlayer - but something a little citrusy on top. A hint of lemon maybe? Sour note turns almost metallic in the finish. Nice attempt at the sweet and sour. BuckNaked (1209), Tempe, Arizona, USA

Aroma: vanilla, coffee, bitter chocolate, vinous grapes, sweet & alcoholic malts, smells exactly like a dannon coffee yogurt. Taste: very malty, oily, with notes of vinous grapes, sweet soy sauce, coffee, sour cherries, vanilla, oak, sour yeast and a bit of alcohol. Finishes dry, with hints of cocoa and mild yeast. rudolf (1786), Buffalo, New York, USA
