Commercial Description:
A Baltic porter brewed in collaboration with Lew Bryson. This style is difficult to find outside of the Baltics. What a shame! The grist consists of lots of Munich malt and some chocolate and other specialty malts. A Bavarian lager yeast is used to create this. Dark and mysterious, subtle and well, it is called the Hammer. For those who care, Perkuno was the Baltic thunder god.

I’ve had a few Baltic porters and this Perkuno’s is in line with ones from Europe. Flavors of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts evident in this dark brown medium body porter. Real easy to get "hammered" after a few bottles.

Baltic Porter - never heard of this style before I bought this one. Poured a dark black with a huge dark brown head. Aromas and tastes of malts, roasty, chocolates and coffees. Starts out sweet with a nice bitter, dry finish. Alcohol well hidden.

Bottle@spiesys. Sweet and chocolateyroasty, lightly burnt, with some acidity, hoppy finish, pretty tasty, but a lot of alcohol in the finish.

Bottled.Black with a brown slow fizzing head. Dark bitter chocolate aroma starts out promising but takes a alcoholic twist. Burnt roasted flavours are set apposed medicinal finish. Sour finishing length on the palate. [London gathering: Spiesy, Duff, chris_o, Marty-D and SilkTork]

Bottle pours black as night, small tannish colored dishwater like head, with fairly sticky lacing.   Aroma of soy (seems like an imperial stout), burnt malts, light chocolate, and some dark pitted fruit.   Forwardly bittersweet dark chocolate, soy, with slight hops and plums/dates thrown in.   Finishes slightly sweet, with more dark fruity flavors.   For an imperial porter, this was quite dark and quite tasty.   Good body and mouthfeel.   Thanks goes out to austinpowers for the trade!
