Aroma is oh so good, chocolate, hint of roast. The alcohol is well hidden. Never turn this one down. Drew (2409), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2004 Excellent brew. Smells fantastic. Chocolate, sweetened espresso, plums, pepper, anise, caramel, and plenty of other stuff too! Fairly thick - not overly so, but soooo smooth bodied. Color is dark brown red, medium tan head and good lacing. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

Very dark blood red color with a cloud-like beige head. Tastes incredible. Tasty dark chocolate with carmel and nuts with a more roasted finish. My best perter to date. shameusburp (171), Virginia, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 9, 2004 Poured with a huge full light brown head. Black and opaque in color. Rich chocolate coffee and caramel aromas. Great full body with a great combination of malt flavors, caramel chocolate and roasted malt flvors come through. There is a slight bittersweet taste in the finish. The alcohol content is very well hidden in this wonderful beer. This is the 1st time I’ve had a baltic porter and it will not be the last! I bought this for the beer club I’m in but will get a case for myself next time. Ungstrup (15221), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of smoke. The flavor is sweet smokey, slightly sour, and with notes of chocolate and coffee. A really nice beer. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 5, 2004 Wow! This beer is intense. Black body with a ring of tan bubbles on top. Leaves drippy, soapy lacing. Has spiced rum aromas with woody, syrupy sweet notes. Strong orange tartness spearheads the flavor. There’s lots of thick chocolate and melon sweetness to hold it in check however. Finishes with smokey, raisiny malt. A fun beer to drink as there’s a lot going on in the aroma and flavor, and to boot it uniquely stands out well from the rest of the pack.
