Commercial Description:
A Baltic porter brewed in collaboration with Lew Bryson. This style is difficult to find outside of the Baltics. What a shame! The grist consists of lots of Munich malt and some chocolate and other specialty malts. A Bavarian lager yeast is used to create this. Dark and mysterious, subtle and well, it is called the Hammer. For those who care, Perkuno was the Baltic thunder god.

Courtesy of eclectic, thanks again! Pours a dark brown color, with a nice white head. Aromas are spicy, chocolate like, and kind of sour. Taste is a bit brine like, salty, sour, spicy, and a with some bitter chocolate notes. Palate is a bit thin for my liking, Overall, a very well done Baltic Porter. Tasty, and easy to drink

Courtesy of Degarth, thanks Joe. 12oz bottle pours a thick brown with thin light brown head. The aroma is sweet molasses, hints of burnt malts, sweet caramel candy and oxidation. The taste is very similar with sweet molasses, some burnt malts, caramel yumminess, some slight astringency and there is a fair amount of oxidation present. Aside from the oxidation, that does distract from the experience, this is a very tasty brew.

Everyone knows Imperial Porters are the name of the game. And this heavyweight was a contender. Dark, rich, and bold, this brew had all the makings of a title belt. You will be missed, old friend.

12oz bottle via trade/bonus from The_Eepiest. thanks. Shared with bikesandbeer. Poured into duvel tulip. Pours black with a thin half finger tan head. The nose is full of coffee, a bit of bourbon and some roasty malts that could just be more coffee. The taste is sweet, robust and malty. I’ll agree with crizay there is some fruit in here too. Not quite cherry but not quite anything else. Overall this is a pretty solid impy porter. Alc is hidden well, and overall it tastes great despite the fact that it doesn’t taste much like a porter to me.

Big thanks to MikeTD. Black pour, almond head. Boosy aroma, bourbon, and tart. Flavor is bourbon, chocolate, roasted malts. A tart cherry like flavor is also in the background. Boosy, bourbon and coffee with tartness the whole time. I think this aged and would’ve been better fresh but the so called off-flavors were nice.

12 oz bottle I received from both Beastiefan2k and willblake in separate trades. Pour is nearly all black, some ruby highlights. 1 1/2 inch tan head that settles to about a 1/4 inch. Fairly well retained. Aroma of faint roasted malt and big soy sauce. Taste features a bit more of the roast character, but the soy is still present. Black licorice is pretty strong in the taste as well. Some almost syrupy sweetness exists as well. This one may have been past its prime. Regardless, very happy to have had a chance to try this one.

Bottle, courtesy of nflmvp (thanks Steve!). Pours a a dark brown with a slight late forming dark tan head that dissipates to a thin ring, minor lacing. Nice aroma of roasted/burnt malts, chocolate, coffee, some dark fruits and fig. Flavor is warming and comfortable, with more chocolate, dark fruits and some burnt/roasted malts. Palate is a bit on the thin side, but silky with light carbonation. This is a good baltic porter, and quite enjoyable all the way around.
