Commercial Description:
This one was inspired by Fantome's Black Ghost and Pizza Port's SPF8. It's deep brown in color and the combination of roast and tropical fruit flavors are strange but effective. It's hopped with English Goldings and Saaz and fermented with three Belgian yeast strains. ~6% Brewed: Feb.17 Bottled:

Bottle, Max’s on Broadway. Thanks to jeffin7 for the sample. Foam slowly erupts from the top of the bottle. Pours black/brown with hugh, super carbonated, tan head. Lasting cover, nice lacing. The aroma is some cherry, herbal, medicinal, a touch of vinegar, some roast. The flavor is roast, chocolate, cherry, pepper and herbal. The mouthfeel is sparkling.

Bottle from Super Saver, Somerset, NJ. After a colossal gas release upon opening the bottle, this one poured a deep black with ruby menisci and a huge, lasting, foamy tan head. The aroma was dark malty and fruity, with some Wheaties, cacao, and spicy hints, plus some slight floral funk. At various times, this resembled a porter and a Flemish sour. It had a dark malty, cereally taste, with a definite tart component that was krieky, and a finishing roasty chocolate syrup element. Complex palate, and I don’t consider this a saison as such, but this is very good at any rate.

Pours out a lively dark brown color with a very thick white head, nice lacing. Somewhat vinious nose with some malt. Taste is of some citrus, fruit and some funky fruit here and there, bit roasty on the finish. I liked this one

Bottle: Dark brown, fairly muddy, huge foamy beige head, settles quickly, fairly decent lacing.   Tart nose, slightly woody, sweet breadiness, even wheaty.   Kilned wheat flavor, a touch buttery, slightly tart, some sour cherries, finishing with an artificial sweetness.   Definitely different.   Spritzy mouthfeel, bubbley, moderate body for a Saison.   Finishes like a dull Saison, not floral or overly sweet.   Lingering roasted wheat/barley.   Interesting.   From one Larry to another, Thanks goldtwins!

Dark brown, seemingly cloudy body… very fizzy tan head with lasting lacing. Sour grapefruit roasted malt, honey ham. Well melded flavors… orange, light roasted acidic coffee, nice tart lemon peel, some sweet spice.

Bottle with a 56 hand-written on back thanks to Blake. Clear dark brown body with a big dense tan head. Lemon-grass, orange, a touch of lambic funk, and another touch of black patent acidity. Very interesting flavor, it’s like a porter mixed with a lambic-y saison. Some sweet chocolate, pineapple and grapefruit, with a tart grassy saison thing in back. Great stuff!

Had a big #54 on the back. Unknown what that is. Bottle from MullMan. The beer pours to a a deep but transluscent very dark brown body with a nice creamy tan head and excellent lacing. The aroma is like a sour pineapple and roasty citrusy malts. The flavor is "a coffee flavored saison". Yeasty, coffee, pineapple, roasted grain. The palate is medium modied, refreshing, roasty. Such an interesting and good beer!

54 on the back of the bottle. Very dark pour w/ still visable carbonation and a huge small bubbled head w/ full nice lacing. Smell is an odd roasted sour smell a light fruity hop and a chunk of yeast & dough. Palate is a touch light but w/ a nice coating. Flavor is lightly coffee and sour saison. A saison mixed w/ a porter? Some definate roasted malts in there as well w/ a light sweetness. Some pretty good stuff. Thanks to Blake for sharing.
