Pours a very cloudy golden yellow with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Appears very effervescent and left nice lacing. Aroma is sweet and sour: grainy malt, slightly funky cheese, and fruity esters: banana and nutmeg. Minimal hop notes in the aroma. Flavor is Bretty sour and malty upfront with some subtle sweetness. Bready yeastiness also apparent. Mild banana, apple, and citrus esters in present along with a tad of spicy Noble hops to complement. Bitterness is pleasent and subtle. Body was moderate and the carbonation was quite high yielding a light, refreshing farmhouse ale. Great saison. Jonathan3584 (323), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Another great Saison from Heavyweight (also by way of Glenn). Light, golden body. Aroma of malt, esters, fruits, cloves, sourness. Body is thin and crisply refreshing with flavors of malt, yeast esters and sourness. The flavor isn’t as complex as the black version, but I gave it an extra palate point for being slightly more refreshing. Another win for Heavyweight Saisons. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2005 Lightly hazy dark golden color with a thin, nicely-lacing white head. Aroma is dry, sweaty, yeasty and lightly tart. Body has a nice thickness and good light sourness without being overpowering. Has some mild light fruity complexity and grassy esters. A nicely styled, easy drinking brew. Thanks richlikebeer! sloth (1684), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2005 What a lovely pour! Medium sized , tight beaded tan head, lumpy, rocky and unstoppable. Lace all over the place. Hazy, gold hued ale with a light orange glow, great eye candy! Spicey nose, yeasty, bready malts and a neat sourness pervades the aroma. Body is medium with lightly tingly carbonation. Crisp fruitiness, lightly sour and thirst quenching. Barnyardy notes, doughy malts, berries and a touch of grapefruit. Lightly toasted pale malts round this jersey brewed, highly enjoyable saison out. Finish is dry, crisp and thirst quenching. Highly quaffable! A real pleasure to drink. I,m really looking forward to its black brother! Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA

It’s slightly sweet yet slightly sour and bitter with a grassy note and a slight vinious note. Light bodied, crisp and slightly dry. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The aroma was light funky cheese and lemons. The taste had a little lemony grass and some weird honey. I prefer the black label funkiness. JohnC (2288), Mission Viejo, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2005 sampled at the ’05. Thanks to whomever brought it. A more traditional saison than heavyweight’s dark version, this brew had the complexities in it’s flavor (fruitiness) that I enjoy in a saison. Yankovitch333 (612), Chesapeake City, Maryland, USA

But it poured a light copper with a thick white head. Big citrus aroma with grass. medium to light bodied mouthfeel. Grapefruit, lemon, and grassy on the tongue. Nice aftertaste. A great beer.
