Indianapolis, IN 1/21/06 gathering and thanks to Sprinkle for supplying this one. Small white fizzy head with sparse lacing, hazy, no visible carbonation, and a butterscotch hue. Malty, spicy, clove, citus, sour nose. Flavor was sweet, sour, spicy, and citrus. Mouthfeel was sour and dry. Light body.

750ml bottle from Cornboy. Pours a very hazy yellow color, tons of bubbles racing towards the head, and a clean white foamy head. Nose is a very yeasty, light funk, citrusy lemony scent. QUite a bit of fresh hay and grass. Taste is very much lemon and lime mixture, some more light funk, nice hints of sour mix, and a dry kinda corky woody like finish. Towards the bottom, a the aroma gets very strong and the taste becomes in yoru face. the last bit poured out of the bottles reveals soem very dark colors. Lots of sour apples and raisins along with some heavy limes. The palate gets somewhat heavy on top of the fiz and a nice bitterness ensues on the finish.

From Indy downtown Jan 06 rating. Thanks to Sprinkle. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has light wheats and a yeast as the major components and I got a wiff of some nuttyness as well. Following a mellow aroma there is an unexpected sourness. Real noticable sour grape flavors and a very tart and dry finish.

Thanks to hopdog for letting me select this from his amazing beer cellar. Brassy golden body with moderate carbonation and a uniform, sudsy white head. Alluring sweet notes in the aroma plus hints of stonefruit, lime and pepper. Wild yeast characters in the flavor suggest citrus peels and green coriander. Medium high tartness with moderate bitterness and a drying, woody finish. A good, interesting American saison.

Sample from Jan 06 Indy gathering at BW3 downtown - Thanks Sprinkle - Aroma is citrus, yeast, and candy. Pours hazy gold with good head and decent lacing. Flavor matches aroma with a bit of hops coming out. Palate is sticky and tart. Tasty, but not funky enough to be a top saison.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a hazy golden amber with some very small floaties and an average white lacing head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, spices and lemon. Flavor was tart, granny smith apples with some lemon. Tingly on the tongue.

Hazy golden ale with a thick white head. Sour wheat with lactic notes in aroma. Thin astringent sour ale with less character than in aroma lets predict. Falls flat, with overly tartness, like squeezed lemon. Dissapointed. DumDum’s Belgian Sendoff on August 25, 2005.
