| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2006 Third Heavyweight Saison of the night. This one is completely different. A clear golden hue, instead of the hazy, unfiltered other three. White head. Bananas and yeast in the nose. Also citrus and sugar. Apples and bananas. Oranges and lemons. Slight pine from the hops. Sour and dry finish. My least favorite of the four. Sammy (4013), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2005 Starts sour and fizzy carbonated yet smooth and then melds into a malty citrus with lovely spices, including coriander. Very good saison, between a regular saison and a biere de garde. A bit of horse aroma, almost as if on purpose. Nice mouthfeel and whitish appearance. Ungstrup (15258), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 19, 2005 A hazy dark yellow beer with a big off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of yeast - and so is the flavor also - with a slight spicy note to it. Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2005 A very blurred creamy peach, with a fluffy head that clinged to my glass.
It smelled scrubbing a wet slice of multigrain bread on a slab of stainless steel. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but it was a strange mix of yeast with a metallic aroma, that’s as good an analogy as I could think of.
A bit of fruity esters and a bit of spices, but nothing that really popped for me. Finish was very dry. BelgianGirl (89), West Chester, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 24, 2005 This was a good beer. It was a light golden color with a white head. Highy carbonated. Fruitiness in the taste, but pretty mellow, not overpowering. roder60 (1023), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 10, 2005 Updated: Dec 1, 2005Didn’t have a tulip glass laying around so I poured this into my favorite sniffer glass. Poured a hazy light peach color with a huge amount of froathy deep white head. Looks absolutely delicious! Aroma was a little flat: slightly hoppy, yeasty, and sour malts. Flavor is light, dry, bitter, medium sourness (not overwelming) with a rather flat dry finish. Overall, a very nice brew. Grows on you the more you drink it. Drew (2409), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 8, 2005 I took this bottle to the Middle of Nowhere Gathering, 9/2005. Hazy golden, medium head, good lacing - I liked the look of it. Aroma was floral and spicy. I wasn’t sure how "sour" this would be - nope, not too sour, just enough to keep my taste buds very interested. Also - malty sweet mixed in there too, very dry spice finish (not hoppy, maybe some corriander flavor...) I’d like to try more of the other Saisons they’ve made Boutip (2369), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Bottle shared with Capflu, DumDum and Lubière : Poured a dirty yellow color ale with a huge foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of funky yeast, strange spices probably including coriander. Taste is again a mix between the yeast and spices with well-balanced hops at the end. That is my second Heavyweight and I’m starting to be a big fan of them.
