Bottle 1631.Golden, hazy with some dense white head. Lemon and orange, with a sour edge. The flavour was more notably sour at first sip, and the carbonation made it seem like a pilsner for moments. Somewhat thin underneath, with a metallic edge and a long bitter note. It sours a bit more, but more subtly, as it warms. Still, the flavours don’t come out with much other than some barnyard. It doesn’t blossom the fruit that the aroma promised.

Bottle. Nose is very acidic smelling. Smells like apple malt vinegar. Taste-strong bitter (like a pleasant lemon zest). Has an almost subdued geuze like quality.

Pour is deep golden with a nice bright white head...smell cloves, lemon zest, and corriander, almost like a white...taste was lemons, funk, corriander, yeast, then dry herbs...finish is dry...

Light yellow/gold color with an uber-head. After 10 minutes of waiting for it to die down, lots of farmhouse qualities pour out: hay, must, a little dash of herbs and spice, wheat. The taste is much the same, but with the addition of some vegetable garden mix and a bitter finish. I liked it, but the veggie quality of it got to me about half way through a glass.

750 mL bottle, fairly fresh 2005 version: mostly clear gold with an extremely generous white, small-bubbled Styrofoam that leaves caked lace all around. Strong floral/perfume notes that cover the grapefruity hops initially, but eventually fall aside bringing the zesty yeast to the forefront. Loads of fresh, though sour floral notes are a bit more robust, even and flavourful than others that boast strange flower petals tastes; here they are smooth, a little subdued and combine with tasty fruits and citrus zest to offer a wonderfully flavourful and easy drinking brew! Well done, and Cheers to Hopdog!

Pours gold/copper with a small white head. Smells of barnyard, hay, grass, citrus and misty morning fog. Tastes fruity and airy with a bitter lambic like finish.

Clear, golden body with a thick, fluffy white head. Moderately funky aroma of tart apples, hay, orange zest, moderately earthy hops, floral perfumes, tart wheat husks, mango and a bit of mild pine. Prickly, lively carbonation makes for a fun drinking experience. The flavor is tasty and refreshing. It starts sort of sweet and moderately spicy/funky, before becoming slightly tart and eventually bitter at the end. A solid, enjoyable Saison, in a line of beers with great potential. I hope I get to try to some of them.
