| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 20, 2006 Hazy, dull golden with a small, big-bubbled head. An interesting nose of earthy, grassy hops, strong minerals elements, sweet biscuits, light fruit and some rather strong yeast. The body is moderately full but quickly falls off. The flavor has some bitterness, but I assume much more existed when the beer was younger. The sweetness isn’t huge, but a little more pronounced than I expected. The mineral elements are a bit too strong for my tastes, while the fruit was a bit understated. A tasty beer that was probably significantly better a few months ago. It’s too bad, but I think this was a little old. Thanks, Justin, for sharing. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Hazy gold. Off-white creamy head. Hoppy aroma... a bit of everything... flowers, lemons, wheat. Same with the taste, along with some cider, grass. A bit light, but still good tasting. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Bottle. Hazy brown body, frothy, foamy white head. Citrus-hoppy aroma with herbal, bitter/mint hops underneath that. Dried-out mouthfeel. The flavor has a toatsy pale malt base with spicy green and lime rind hops on top. A drying, papery yeat presents ties to the two together. In the finish are some resinous stemmy hops. A pretty good dried-out beer. 1FastSTi (2575), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Thanks Dave. The beer pours to a very murky brown body with a very lasting milken light beige head. The aroma is hay, lemons, very interesting. The flavor is hoppy and lightly spicy. Floral cinnamon rolls. The palate is velvety and medium bodied. LePoopie (151), Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Thanks to Dave for the sample! Has a nice spicy, citrusy aroma to it. Has a cloudy brown body and a thick white head that takes a few minutes to dissapate. Flavor is nice, hoppy and spicy, but a little subdued. Decent body, but a little strong on the carbonation. Overall, pretty good. 5000 (2480), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Bottle: Dark dirty apple cider in color, very cloudy, huge rocky head, off-white, fairly nice lacing. Spicy nose, basement, hay, citrusy, and also somewhat wheaty on the nose. Tart on the tongue, spices are subtle, a bit more hop bite as suggested by the label. Not as floral or herbal as normally assocaited with the style. This is a big and brash Saison.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Finishes doughy, almost bready. Not your typical Saison, but it was still enjoyable. Thanks Steve for the bottle.

Color is cloudy with particles copper. Aroma is fruit, floral hops, spices. Taste is spices, hops and a good medium maltiness. Earthy, good effervescence. Great occasional beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 24, 2006 Translucent, orangish-brass in color with a fizzy head that dissipates to either a grey ice sheaf or nothing, depending on the pour. Aroma rolls out lemon shortbread cookies, lemon grass, saffron, coriander and pepper. Some additional accents emerge from muskrit, vanilla and honeyed cloves. Flavor is quite the refresher. Pepper and coriander are subservient to the spicy hop regime. Biscuits and lemon husks impart artesian accents. Modesty takes a bow, with subtle cardamom palpitations clinging on its coattails. Spritsy and hoppy with herbaceous lemon tenements pollinating the palate. Effervescent and delivering on what it set out to do (hoppy), finishing with crisp corn husks, moderate bitterness, pollen and ragweed. Big thanks to tpkenned for the bottle!
