| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 17, 2007 Bottled sample via presario. Sampled with Oakbluff on IIPA Saturday. Deep amber/red in colour with medium-low carbonation. Unlike the other IIPAs we’ve sampled today, this one has a strong aromatic malt presence to go along with the citric hops. Some rye bread smells also reveal themeselves as the beer warmed up. Heavy in the mouth with flavors of lightly toasted malt, rye bread, spicy hops, alcohol, and a bit of red grape. Medium bitterness. Good stuff, but not quite in the same class as the other IIPAs we tried today. brstp (201), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 16, 2007 Bomber. Nice dark brown orange color, large khaki head. 50/50 between pine hops and very caramelly malt aroma, taste is the same with a little more citrus, alcohol, and rye obviously. Lots and lots of malts, unusual for a DIPA but not unpleasant. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Bitter, with notes of peaches, orange peel, and toasty malts. More rye is noticeable in the finish. Not bad. y0cola (361), fremont, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 27, 2007 22oz. Bottle: Aroma is moderately malty and moderately hoppy. Smells of toasting and caramel as well as resin, grapefruit, and aromatic hops. Poured a copper/red or ruby/amber in color with a small tan head that lasted throughout. Good lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and heavily bitter. Sweetness noted in flavors of malt, caramel and cookie. Bitter hop notes of pine, resin, wood, and rye. Also has slight alcohol taste up front. Medium to full body. Tingly, sticky texture. Long, kinda dry, bitter finish that make my mouth water. Overall, a different IPA that is well balanced and nice and bitter in the end.
