The_Sponge (143), Lynnwood, Washington, USA May 28, 2008 1 pint, 6 fl. oz. bottle. Pours a dark amber/red color. Full bodied and very malty. Aroma: Whole wheat bread and dried fruit. This is one awesome beer.
dkachur (723), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 20, 2008 22 oz. bottle from Wine Warehouse. Viscous orange pour with a small head that quickly disappears. I’m looking for the rye in the aroma but all I find are a sweet maltiness balanced by a bitter hoppiness. Citrusy hops with some rye. Alcohol is hidden well. TheBeerBaron (161), Florida, USA Aug 10, 2008 Cloudy orange brown hue. A small head that dissapears almost immediately. No carbonation in the glass. Fruity orange and more pineapple with just the tiniest hint of hops. A delicious aroma - do not drink this when hungry. The flavor is nothing like the aroma. Flavor is super heavily malted and even higher levels of hops - it is super packed with those two beer staples bursting at the seems. A silky palate but not as heavy as one might anticipate. The 10% alc is covered by all the hopping. This is a must try for those who appreciate the raw ingredients that goes into beer. kevd193213 (311), Coventry, Rhode Island, USA Aug 8, 2008 Bottle. Reddish copper pour with a tan head. Aroma of hops and pepper. Taste of caramel and toffee but mostly dominant hops with a really bitter peppery finish. scotch4281 (35), Hollywood, Florida, USA Aug 7, 2008 Nice reddish/brown color. It has a rich flavor that is a nice balance of hops and malts. Smooth delivery, with a bittersweet aftertaste. Very nice aroma. patrick820 (63), San Luis Obispo, California, USA Aug 5, 2008 Pours dark amber with lasting head, flavor is sweet, and bitter hops, very good
