Poured a cloudy copper brown with a medium off-white head that laced beautifully. There was a fruity hop aroma. It had a somehat sticky and partially effervescent mouthfeel. I don’t know what pomegranates taste like, but there was a fruity taste that I’m guessing is pomegranate. Also a little malt flavor along with pine and citrus hop aftertaste. Flavor became stronger as it warmed, including hoppy aftertaste and a little caramel also came out toward the end. Glouglouburp (2874), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Clear dark-red body with a small white head. I’ve never had a pomegranate before but I had grenadine (the sweet syrup made from pomegranate) and this is what this beer tastes like, grenadine, some tropical fruits and some juicy hops. Obviously very sweet and with an alcohol presence of at least 10%. Well brewed but overall this was too simple and too focused on its fruity taste. I’ve got to give them points for trying something new, a pomegranate beer is certainly not by the book and breaks many rules, one could even say that this Hebrew is not very kosher. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2006 22 oz Bottle: Pours a dark amber with limited head. No lacing. Sweet citrusy nose and a medium mouth feel. Alcohol well hidden for 10%. Hops and fruit balance pretty well. Overall a surprisingly good beer. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A sheet of head stands over the clear reddish orange.
-Candied fruit and hop resins coexist peacefully.
-Earthy hoppiness competently balances out the pomegranate juice, which doesn’t exaggerate.
-The clean mouthfeel is rather drinkable for its size.
What if you dig deeper?
-Alcohol is certainly well-hidden for a 10% strong ale.
-The fruity sweetness is rather linear, but is done with taste.
-Light tartness touches the back end, which is to be expected from a pomegranate.
-I was pleasantly surprised by this one, as I was expecting an over-the-top fruit beer, but what I found was a cleverly conceived strong ale which could please those looking for a sipper as much as those wanting the drinkability of a fruit-laced drink.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2006 Thanks Brewblackhole for this one! Reddish amber color. Smell of raisins, heavy malt, sugar, honey, hops, rusty nails, prunes, hints of blueberries and alcohol. Taste of very heavy malt, hops, raisins, honey, nuts, nails, a little citrus, and alcohol. Dry bitterness at the end that has a weird aftertaste. Way too much malt in this one. Arayaga2 (981), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 22, 2006 Medium clear reddish brown with minimal head. Faint aroma of malt and hops, taste is burnt and bitter, mouthfeel is thin, and carbonation medium. $6/22oz brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2006 Hops dominate the aroma, with some malt raisin and alcohol backing, taste is hard to catagorize,a mish mash of all those hops and malts gives you a tangy hop dominated taste interesting but probaly a one time experience
