Bottle purchased at Colorado Liquor Outlet in Colorado Springs, CO. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy, white head, diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, toasted grain), average hops (flowers, perfume), light yeast (earth) with notes of pomegranates. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Sweet. Malty. A slightly different strong ale - possibly because of the pomegranate taste that lingers a bit. My wife said, "That’s good!" before I told her what we were drinking. She’s not a strong ale person. Another nice beer from HeBrew. Go TRIBE!

Pours out a hazy chestnut. nose of sweet toffee and tangy fruit. Taste- sweet and syrupy. Woody tobacco like hops. Has a cough syrup taste from the fruit and same sort of thick viscous consistency. Not something I look for in a beer. Fairly hot to boot. This is a tough drink. Can’t say that I enjoyed.

After it’s de-capping, the beer pours a deep rich brown with a portly tan head that is semi-creamy in texture, the lace for a thick and sticky blanket to surround the glass. Nose is rich in malt, sweet, nutlike, hints of caramel, a real mouth watering nose; start is sweet and rich in grain and the top moderate in its feel to the palate. Finish is pleasingly acidic, the hops stinging in their spiciness, nice dry aftertaste, with a hint of alcohol at the very end.

Bottle. Malty aroma with some dry hops in the background. Pours a dark amber brown with a creamy off white head. Sweet malt with some citrus hops on the palate with the pomegranate getting the way. The fruit just isn’t integrated well with the beer. Tastes a tad disjointed. Medium to full bodied.

650ml brown bottle. Pours a dark red brown colour with a super creamy tan head. Lots of sticking lace on the glass. Aroma has pomegranate and some rich caramel malt behind it. Malty, medium sweetness with caramel/toffee up front, raisiny fruits, finishes with light citrusy hop bitterness and a slight alcohol bite. Just a hint of pomegranate flavour starts to show when it warm up. Viscous, heavy full body. Tight fine carbonation. Overall it’s sweet and rich, maybe too much. A touch more hopping would have put this into the 4’s for me.

22 oz. bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours a hazy deep orange amber color with a smallish white head that leaves thick curtains of lace. Rich toasty malts with ripe summer fruits, pomegranate (which apparently has a berry character) clover, subtle floral hops and pungent herbs. Flavor is sweet, tart and bitter all rolled together, pomegranate, toasty malts with hints of caramel, bitter flowers, biting herbs and alcohol noticible as well. Medium body and gently, prickly carbonation. Interesting ale overall.

Pours a hazy orange with a beautiful, creamy/frothy, off-white head that laces nicely. The aroma is a solid, sweet malt backing, much like an IIPA without the the powerful hop presence. Pomegranate along with fruity and resinous hops complete the nose. Medium-bodied, creamy and slick with soft carbonation, the palate finishes moderately bitter. Super-sweet, almost syrupy malt fronts the flavor profile, with a solid pomegranate note followed by more caramel malt. Resinous hops come in at the finish to reverse gears to the bitter side of the spectrum. This is an interesting but not as integrated as I would like. It transitions between flavors rather than blending them. Tasty enough but far sweeter than I prefer, it’s not a beer that I’m likely to purchase again.
