marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 23, 2009 This dark copper ale poured with a decent beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a thin caramel flavor with significant hop bitterness. There is nothing special about this beer. zombywoof (355), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Oct 18, 2009 Aroma of malt and not much of that, Mild hoppiness and more malt. Kinda boring and overpriced. Won’t buy this again. Cletus (4999), Connecticut, USA Oct 13, 2009 Draught sample. Pours copper/mahogany with an off white head. Smells of earth, some sweet malt, peppery, some floral hints, caramelly. Enjoyable. Harsebrau (164), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Oct 1, 2009 Non descript nose and lacking in interesting eye appeal. Slight sweet hop bitterness and chewy malt flavor. SuIIy (1405), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Sep 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off white head. Nose is malty up front with some grassy notes as well. Palate is medium with a velvet touch. Flavors are mostly caramel malts and some sweetness with a light hop note in the finish. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Sep 14, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Copper color with almost no head and very light carbonation. Aroma is very malty with lots of buttery toffee notes. Flavor begins slightly sweet with a rather significant hop presence before moving to a floral and hoppy middle, almost reminiscent of an IPA. Finishes with light toffee notes that mix in with the bitterness that lingers on the palate. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 26, 2009 Bottle at Chris-o’s Pre GBBF tasting and 2009 ... amber ... sweet toffee malt and american pale ale hop ... ligth pale pale ale hop ... fluffy (229), Florida, USA Aug 23, 2009 really more of an IPA than a regular pale ale. therefore not my style. good for what it was though, just not the kind of thing i prefer drinking.
