Aroma is very malty with lots of buttery toffee notes. Flavor begins slightly sweet with a rather significant hop presence before moving to a floral and hoppy middle, almost reminiscent of an IPA. Finishes with light toffee notes that mix in with the bitterness that lingers on the palate. cgarvieuk (4269), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a thin-moderate off-white head. Mild aroma of malt and not much else. The flavor is malt along with a bit of citrus hops towards the finish. Pretty standard fare for an APA. No problems here. demdeac40 (243), Etowah, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Pours a nice cloudy, orange-amber with meium head and nice lacing. Nose is sweet malt, caramel with a touch of hops in the back. The malt is dominant in the flavor. Nice full mouth feel with just a slight hoppy finish. Different than some but not bad at all. Amber color, small white head. Light to medium fruity hoppyness in the nose. Hard iron mouthfeel. Some hops, hard licorice kind of flavor. Harsh.
