Very few hops in the nose. The flavor is nice ... very nice. However, it tastes more like an amber than a pale ale. Especially a west coast pale ale. A nice creamy mouthfeel. Overall a good beer, but I still don’t think it’s a pale ale.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Pours a pretty nice white head over a translucent brownish amber. Has a passable caramel malt. Taste is so far the weakest point. I would say that the beer is under-hopped and under-malted. Some bitterness, but not really enough I don’t think. Palate is just as boring as the remainder of the beer. I mean, it is very drinkable, but the beer sort of lures you in under false premises of a fine appearance and aroma and then hits you with a lackluster taste. But then again, maybe its just that I’m not Jewish. altonbrownd (1958), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle at Amity Hall, NYC. Nice amber body with small tan head. Nice malty nose. Toffee and caramel tastes, with evolves into hops towards the bitter finish. Another nice HeBrew. asheft (1438), Marburg, Germany

Nice floral hops aroma that is a blend of pine and weak citrus noble together with nice toffee. Almost clear coppery orange under wispy white and a ring. Cardboardy spicy malt flavour with some apricot and caramel apple notes. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, slight lingering sour bitter finish. GJF (510), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 23, 2009 There is a nice hoppiness to this, but it was also fairly thin and had a carboard quality to it. Not great. Shakesbeere (54), Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Malty and nutty aroma. Taste is initially of caramel malt, which gives way to an overly bitter hop taste. The malt never really comes back. Body is a little thin. Has a hint of klezmatic nastalgia; nothing especially noteworthy otherwise. Snojerk321 (2019), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a deep hazy reddish amber with a small beige ring, spotty lacing. Nose was mostly toasted malts with some faint herbal hops. Flavor starts really nice with hints of caramel and toffee, giving way to roasted malts and a light hop bitterness.
