Bottle. Pours to a clear dark brown body under a spotty foamy tan head. Muddled aroma that’s hard to pin on any one style - toast, roasted caramel malt with alcohol and roasted grain dust. Cherry fruit, walnut, and roasted barley up front in the flavor with a lingering coffee and fruity nut finish. This beer has a complex flavor but it’s just not that interesting. Roasty, nutty and fruity.

Brown clear body with ruby hints. Dusty light tan head. Hidden, sweet roasty malt. Kind of a mix of a lot of different malty qualities... caramel, cola, vanilla, syrup. Taste is the same... but it needs to mellow out or something. I’m not sure... I want to call it complex, but its kind of awkward. Maybe its something with the sweetness.

Has a decent roasty aroma to it. Deep black color, a little carbonation present, and a thin tan head. Has a bitter flavor, but nothing really taste to it. OK body, but the carbonation is kind of overpowering. Overall, it’s palatable, but I don’t think I would try it again.

Dark, coffee-colored with a tan head. The aroma is mildly flavored with cocoa and high on the roasty side - highly typical of a porter, not most ASAs. The flavor is a strange, unbalanced mix of maple syrup, cocoa, yeast and strange fruit esters. The finish is metallic and very unpalatable. Unfortunately, it lingers awhile too. Too much carbonation makes it hard to drink too.

Dark burgundy pour, with decent, lasting, frothy head - aroma is mostly roasted malt, with some caramel and a touch of wood - tastes kind of like a so-so homebrewed abbey ale - some spice, caramel and dark fruit presence - but the body is thin, the finish watery, and the alcohol far too evident throughout - the sweetness is almost artificial, aspartame-like - not all that good.

pour dark, with good size light brown head. lightly corbonated, and smooth. quite malty, and not overly bitter. nice toasty flavors lead towards a imperial stout.

Good sized light brown head. Creamy on top with light carbonation. Tasty aroma with roasted malts, some grapes, caramel and a hint of molasses. Very aromatic. Color is a very dark brown with some red around the edges. Rich, roasty and sweet flavor. Very strong. More roasted grains, molasses, some smoke, and dark fruit. Slightly dry, pasty palate. Flavor seems a little off and has a slight tartness to it. Nice alcohol kick and warming. Hot finish that is roasty and bitter. A decent brew but one that is not sitting well with my stomach.

Very deep, red-chestnut beer with brownish small head. Very aromatic nose with C-hops, grapes, grapecake, chocolate, wood and tannines. Higher alcohols, heavy sweetness, but filtered by a hopsflavour. Chocolate, dry hops, dried grapes (rather than sultana’s), lipsmacking stickyness, but at the same time dry hoppiness to round off. Very well-bodied, rather Imperial than Brown. Extremely nice beer. It’s definitely not overpowering as an Imperial Barley Wine, but gratifying rather. Even when the beer was not served in ideal circumstances. Again big thanks to eyedrinkale and mkobes.
