| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2009 The aroma is robust with a hint of cinnamon and other spices. The malts and hops are a perfect blend. The taste of the chocolate malt stands out significantly to my taste buds and this lays on the palette magnificently. I have tried the other Jewbelations when they have come out and all were exceptional this perhaps even the best. No small feat to match all of these different hops and malts. The ABV of 13% is hidden pretty well but you can still make it out, a little sharp would be the saying. After reading some of the other post I wonder how long this brew would age and would like to put one aside, the slight sharpness would probably mellow this even more so. presario (2959), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bomber from the Coop in Davis, CA. Pours much like Abyss - very dark brown with a huge dark tan head. Aromas of malt, fennel, dark fruit and treacle. It’s near full bodied with creamy carbonation. It has lots of flavor. Treacle. Raisin/prune. Somewhat burnt malt. It’s more sweet than not. There seems to be no heat at all. Finishes mildly sweet - not cloying - but the bitter is very much second seat. fidel (937), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Poured black, licorice, alcohol, roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark fruits. Enough hops on the back end to almost balance it out. BOLTZ7555 (1087), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Maple syrup pour with a creamy white head that you can rest a quarter on and that leaves a decent amount of lacing. Flavor is brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, caramel, toffee, and raison. Similarly, aroma shows tons of sweetness but not as much complexity. Medium mouthfeel but enough carbonation to cut through the sugar. Nice. CaptainCougar (5456), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Pours a mostly opaque dark mahogany with a small creamy froth of light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and fresh grapefruity hops with some light fruity raisin and brown sugar complexity. Starts full bodied and dark caramely sweet with a good balance of hoppy bitterness and molasses flavor along with some raisin and date fruitiness. Finishes somewhat drier with a hint of bittersweet dark chocolate. A well-made and enjoyable brew. GodOfThunder (864), Orlando, Florida, USA
