Bottle. A dark brown to black color with a rich foamy light brown head. Dark fruits, caramel, molasses, and rich malts in the aroma. A great rich malty flavor, warming, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, and brandy.

On tap @ Coles, Buffalo NY. Deep dark dark black pour. tan head. Big big rich complex zroma. Prunes, riasins, licorice, chocolate. Taste is strong booziness. Licorice, dried fruit, rasininy, chocolate. Real strong, real boozy. Tough to drink, a definate sipper. almost too strong IMO

Tap at Barcade: (Listed as an Imperial Stout): Opaque black pour with a deep tan film. Very interesting aroma- spicy with some pumpkin beer qualities- nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, date paste, and a huge fudgey chocolate presence/de-bittered black malt. Nice aroma. Thick chewy bodyVery big and chocolaty with a spicy presence to balance. Cinnamon notes and nutmeg- almost curry like in some ways- chocolate liqueur and spices. Interesting and complex- fairly drinkable for it’s size.

Holy hell, I’m gonna be trashed in an hour... 13%!!!! Goodbye liver! Incredibly dark brown beer that oozed out of the bottle silently. Got some light brown head that lives on as a thin ring with dissipating spotty lacing. Man, snuck a sip - this is one thick heavy duty monster brew! The aroma is strong and pungent with sweetness, plum, fig, pine, orange, roast, raisin, weak cocoa, more fig, cookie dough, cherries, more raisin... damn - what didn’t I smell in here? I can tell you that I didn’t smell gazelle ankles or monkey eyebrows. Well, what I can say about the taste is this: nothing I haven’t had dozens of times before. Doesn’t mean it ain’t good though! Immediate alcohol but not enough to ruin the experience, cocoa, pine, peppermint, red apple skin (twice only), plums, the peppermint can be found while pressing my tongue to the roof of my mouth and sucking as well, more chocolate now, man, this is awesome. Dark fruit, molasses or not-quite burnt sugar - the quantity of the flavour is no joke here. A bit medicinal, tangerine and unsweetened grapefruit... the main flavours from this beast are the sweetness mixed with alcohol, pine, plums and burnt sugar. Every sip is oily, which is cool. Full bodied, slick, huge. It’s like my mouth is covered in bacon grease. Every sip gives out a blast of alcoholic spice and, without putting much thought into it, plums and burnt sugar. Not once did I ever experience any alcohol "heat". Finishes with ample bitterness that is not out of the realm of enjoyment. Excellence in a bottle. My head is spinning. And so, another unproductive day at work looms...

Pours a deep onyx with a nice head of light beige. Aroma is sweet raisin bread and Grape Nuts, with a nice alcohol presence in the background. Flavor is raisin syrup and malt juice, with hints of bread and plumb in the finish. Nice mouthfeel. Alcohol is hidden well. A solid beer. L’chaim witz!

Bottle from BevMo La Jolla. Pours a deep cola brown with a 2 finger thick beige head. Big nose of caramel, toffee, cocoa, dates, raisins and deep roasted malts. Flavor was much of the same while being very sweet on the finish and not very boozy for 13%, good stuff.

treads the line between too much and just enough. at 13% abv its really strong with an alcoholic warming feel to it. good stuff, but not exceptional. proof that complex does not equal excellent.

22 oz bottle. Pour is a dark brown with tan head. Very sweet and malty. Molasses, toffee, hint of chocolate, dried plums, strange sweetness, and some floral hops. Interesting beer, chewy mouthfeel. My opinion it is too sweet and cloying.

22 oz. bottle. Huge, sweet boozy monster. Dried fruits, molasses, chocolate and coffee. Pure decadent dessert in a bottle. I recommend splitting the 22 oz. bottle with a friend since it is so rich. Plus at 13% a whole 22 might leave you on the floor.
