Appearance: deep dark brown with mid dark tanned creamy top , fine lace.
Nose: solid nose , good bitter feel , dark malts with alcohol hints. Good depth with slight touch of cask.
Flavor/Palate : Mid bodied that is well presented. Slight sharpness of bitters , brown malts paired with leafy hop. Alcohol here is present as blending element. Light hint of cask. Sweet ,sticky character. Very smooth for its size.

Draft. Pours very deep brown with a beige head. Malty aroma, with dark fruits, whiskey, and some vanilla like sweetness. The flavor is heavy on the dark fruit sweetness. Raisin, fig, etc. Whiskey notes are restrained but definitely noticeable. Very nice.

Handbottle shared by a generous soul at the Brick Store HmoG. Pours a dark clear mahogany with ruby hints around the edges and little head to speak of. The aroma has some of the underlying beer with sweet caramel malts and dark fruit, but the barrel presence is really dominant with the oaky vanilla sweetness and whiskey really coming out. Same story with the taste which had an interesting tartness on top of the woody tannins and tons of booze. The caramel malt base and dark fruits are there but subtle. The mouthfeel is very smooth and slick with the aforementioned barrel presence generating a dry boozy finish. This was a decent beer, though the barrel presence was really overpowering to me. Glad I had the opportunity to try it.

The beer pours black bodied with a thick off-white colored head that never really dissipates. The head however is not sticky and despite being all black with no light the beer does "look" thick. Aroma is very fruity alcohol, but high on the fruit part and low on the stingy isopropanol-like alcohol. Taste is similar with a bit more maltiness, not a lot, but just enough to cover some of the alcohol. Still pretty light bodied for this beer. The barrel completely takes over but I was not a fan of the base beer so that is a step up. Also, the fruitiness of the rye is welcomed compared to a lot of BA brews now days.
Goblet glass from draft @ Blind Tiger.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Very dark brown beer with a thick tan head. Aroma is quite sweet and spicy. Medium chocolate, toasted graininess and a bit of spicy rye whisky aroma. Less woody and oaky than the rye on rye, but somehow more of the rye character itself comes through. A bit earthy and chewy as well. Flavour is quite sweet but the rye character helps tone it down a bit. The alcohol is well-hidden and there is very good integration of the barrel character with the beer. Some soft oakiness on the back. As it warms the beer really comes into its own as the rye whisky character picks up a lot. Spicy and even a little fruity over the sweet chocolate and rich caramelly malts. An excellent version of the 11, which I enjoyed as well.
