| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Dark burgundy-brown with a thin yet tightly packed tan head. Tremendously inviting nose. Wonderful mouthfeel. Thick, velvety texture with a complementing level of carbonation. Rich malts were filled with toffee, chocolate, peat, dark grains, earth and freshly baked multigrain bread. Hops were grassy; somewhat drying bitterness in the finish. Other aromas of dark fruit and pine. Big alcohol was hidden fairly well, soft and soothing. What a great beer! laguerita (111), Chicago, Illinois, USA
