Bottle (22oz). Shared by blankboy with GregClow, jerc and tupalev. Near opaque ruby-brown pour, smallish frothy tan head. Strong deep roast malt aroma, alcohol, figs and olives, alcohol again ... dry. Taste - way less boozy, less sour fruit, mostly just deep roast coffee malt and plenty of fresh green herbal hops. Thick body, somewhat acidic, long bitter hop finish, not burnt or boozy at all. Very very good.

It pours out a beautiful sable, almost opaque, with a nice thick tan head. Aroma is rich and "stouty," smoky with a hint of miso and coffee. Flavor is sublime - rich and lip-smacking, strong coffee undertone, some hop bitterness and also some molasses-like sweetness, and the two marry well. Mazel Tov! (If I may say so, being a gentile!)

22oz bottle. Aroma mostly sweet malts on the nose with some molasas. Black body with darker tan head some lacing. Sugary sticky texture with some sweet candy licorice flavor. Hint of roasted toast. Almost more like a stng belgian ale to me but good nonetheless. Has an alcohol warming effect on the body and a sweet sticky candy aftertaste. Good Brew.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin head. Sugary and roasted aroma. Taste is very good. Smooth, malty, sweetness then the roasted coffee hits the mouth. Thick, full, and smooth on the palate.

Bottle. Dark, coffee/chestnut color, reddish almost. Fine tan head. Hops and malts are balanced well, but the alcohol is too apparent. Anise, almonds, some dark fruit. Flavor is similar with a dry finish. A little like double bastard. I feel like this beer would be better if it didn’t have as much alcohol in it. And I’m pretty sure the only reason it has such a high ABV is just so that they could say it was 11%. Not bad, but if there was less alcohol I think the complexity of the beer would come through more.

Dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Nice looking. Aroma of black licorice, dark fruits, a little vinous. Roasted malts in the flavor accompanied by licorice and a good amount of dark over ripe fruits. Pretty hot with the alcohol. It was ok, but I haven’t been the biggest fan of their brews so far.

Bomber poured into a Sam Adams special glass. HJE pours quite dark with a medium-sized head that persists. It smells like dark fruits, maybe raisin and molasses. The flavor is pretty typical of darker American ales that fall short of porters. The alcohol adds a nice little mouth burn. The finish is long with a happy little burn.
