A fabulous malty brown with a strong hop presence hides the high alcohol really well. It was a relly enjoyable beer to share.

Bomber from mcbackus; Nose is floral hops, toffee, vanilla, anc chocolate; almost opaque dark brown with a large orangish tan head heavily lacing the glass; flavor has hop bitterness, caramel, coffee, raisins, and alcohol; finish is a little bitterness and alcohol warmth!

11 - Read the small print on the bottle. Yeah, 11. I’m wit ya... 1 pt 6 oz bottle pours quite black with red light getting through with a sustaining smallish pale tan head with minimal, but sustaining lace. The aroma is yeast and sweetness up front, with roasted malt, chocolate malt backbone to hold it up. The flavor is dark roasted and sweet, chocolate, dark fruits (with sugar added), biscuit malt, parve yeast, vanilla, coffee as it warms, 11 of everything. The Grateful Dead had The 11 - spainsh lady comes to me she lays on me this rose... Or was it The Other One? I think my family was Sephardic in Spain; don’t know how we survived the Inquisition. We came out of it Catholic, I think. So why am I Lutheran? Shall we go you and I while we can? Yes, I like this beer. I will try to focus and rate. The roasted character seems to surface more as it warms. There is nothing unconventional about the flavor, rather conservative - too many Jolly Pumpkins lately. Everything is better as it warms, including this. But this one does not quite rank real highly with me.

Pours a fairly thick dark brown brew with a one finger creamy sticky tan head. The aroma is sweet, high alcohol, dark sugar, rum and raisin, spicy hops. The flavor is warm alcohol, sweet, spicy waxy hops, caramel, rum, vinous. Definitely a lot of complexity. Maybe too many cooks in the kitchen. Nice brew though.

The color was dark brown/black. The head was creamy, thin, laced some, and light biege. The aroma was rum, buttery, molasses, chocolate, and vanilla. The flavor was molasses, chocolate, roasty, coffee, and alcohol. The palate was thick-bodied. The finish was warm.

This is not bad at all - really made me start watching this brewery, having not been exposed where I am originally from. Great style-bending ale, like Old Viscosity. This guy is American Strong, double IPA, even red if you get it cold enough. Nowhere near the pain of Hop 15 or Dorado, it isn’t quite as sweet as an Arrogant Bastard either. A fine anniversary celebration.

Sweet, molasses aroma. Pours to a beautiful, thick brown color. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Taste is well balanced without being too heavy. Hints of alcohol, but not too much. Nice, finish that’s not too heavy. A great beer.

bomber. pours 100% motor oil, bubbly/foamy head. heavy aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, thick butterscotch, and molasses. wow. sweeter tastes of heavy molasses, generous hops, and a dark chocolate ice cream float. alcohol is not completely hidden, but masked well. it is a very sweet stout with a finish that is both sweet and bitter. good stout, but the flavors could be better integrated. it seems a bit dichotomous to me.
