| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Updated: Feb 2, 2008In the bottle at the 2007 Crescent Moon Holiday Beer Tasting. Pours black with a dark brown head. This is thick as a brick. As thick as molasses. Has big hops. A very strong burnt roastedness to the flavor. Has a long licorice aftertaste. This big boy is delicious. UPDATE 2/08: In the bomber from Beertopia. I’m getting the licorice up front this time with a bigger dark bitter chocolate toward the end. I’m just astonished at how incredibly thick this beer is. Sulfurous molasses permeates the aroma. This is really good stuff.
