Dec 16, 2007 bottle, liquorloft tallahassee. poured a dark black with a small dirty foam. heavy hops in the aroma and chocolate and sweet malt. flavor was heavy and thick pine and citrus hops, a dose of sweet malt. a lasting balanced hop and malt finish. body was heavy and almost syrup like. alcohol warmed me up a bit.

Dec 15, 2007 Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate complex toasted malt,chocolate and coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Heavy balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

Dec 13, 2007 Bomber. Black pour with crimson edges. Thick foamy tan head. Dark chocolate, coffee, hops, and sweet malt on the nose. Taste is very bitter on the front. Flavors of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, oranges, and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel. Lasting bitter finish with some added heat.

Dec 13, 2007 (22oz bottle) Large tan head atop clear red-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, some pine, caramel, grain alcohol, light raisin. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, some alcohol, raisin/caramel, light chocolate, roast. Some alcohol warming. Medium-full body, fairly smooth, light acidity.

Dec 13, 2007 Nearly black pour with a creamy and lasting tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, espresso and light citrus hops. Full bodied and creamy. Taste reveals a deep roasty flavor with some sweetness, caramel, coffee, dark fruit. Alcohol is present throughout and leads to a lingering, warm finish with a bit of citrus hops. Verrrry good.

Dec 11, 2007 On tap Vintage Estates. Pours a very deep brown with a white head. Massive hops on the nose with chocolate and roast. Taste is chocolate which fades to hops and back to chocolate and then roast.Finish is of strong hops ands slight roast. Very unique with fruit on all ends.

Dec 11, 2007 Updated: Feb 2, 2008In the bottle at the 2007 Crescent Moon Holiday Beer Tasting. Pours black with a dark brown head. This is thick as a brick. As thick as molasses. Has big hops. A very strong burnt roastedness to the flavor. Has a long licorice aftertaste. This big boy is delicious. UPDATE 2/08: In the bomber from Beertopia. I’m getting the licorice up front this time with a bigger dark bitter chocolate toward the end. I’m just astonished at how incredibly thick this beer is. Sulfurous molasses permeates the aroma. This is really good stuff.
