Bottle from utobeer. Alround rating: Sweet roasty malts, chocolate, candy sugar caramalt, some fruity plums, small pineapple citrusy note, on the sweeter side, but good carbonation made it easily drinkable for the % Rerate: tap at the rake: Big bold and too much, nothign really holding it together.

Bomber. A perfectly black body with a bit of garnet at the edges and a large light brown tan head. The aroma is like cherry candy with some caramel. There is also some earthy leather. The taste has some leather and cherries. There is also some plum and cough syrup in the finish. It is almost like this brew is slightly oxidized even though it is relatively fresh. Meant for sipping, this one is ok, but a little harsh in it’s finish. Now that I have had it again with a little more age, the rough edges have smoothed out nicely. This beer is improving with age.

Poured a clear very deep brown color with a small off-white head. Sweet toasted malt, with caramel and black cherry skin. Fruity malt with a hint of chocolate toward the finish. Sweet and warming. Medium to full bodied and smooth on the tongue. Some alochol pepper bite.

22oz. bottle. Darkly sugary malt aroma, lightly fruity and alcoholic with notes of brown sugar, plum, black cherry, licorice, cola, nut, black bread, peppery spice and some herbal touches. Deep, dark brown color, semi-opaque and nearly black, with a fine, lasting, tan head. Flavor profile is fairly busy, with plenty of dark malt sweetness throughout, along with varying degrees of caramel, chocolate, spice cake, raisin and earthiness along with alcoholic tinges towards the finish. Smooth, warming and very full on the palate, body is expectedly massive. I’m sure much is lost in the jumble of ingredients here, but at the same time, this is very easily drinkable for a beer of its strength and fairly interesting, ultimately.

Popurs a rather dark brown to black with a light tan head, thinning fast. The nose is sweet with residual sugar. A little bit of everything. Dark fruit, chocolate, raisins, alcohol, sweetness, caramel, some acidic roast, though not exactly roasty. Fruity. Creamy mouthfeel with some viscosity and some very small bubbled carbonation. The flavors are in line with the nose, all over the place. Sweet and fruity with lots of malt and alcohol. Dark fruits, acidic roast, chocolate. A bit heavier on the esters than I generally expect in the style. Not a bad beer though, even if it is a bit of a mess, it’s still fun. It’s more Die Hard than Citizen Kane. Lingering alcohol and fruity esters.

Dark brown color with a complex aroma of caramel, roasted malts, coffee, etc. Taste is more of the same as well as some earthy hops and dark fruits. Full-bodied; alcohol is very noticeable. A satisfying beer overall, even though I’m not Jewish.
