Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with small brown head. Aroma is coffee, some roasted malts as well as chocolate. Flavour is quite much the same with a rather coffeeish notes.

bottle - Pours black with a very thin tan head. The aroma is of dark fruit including grapes and cherries. The flavor is extremely sweet malt. The 12% abv is buried under syrupy sweetness. It’s full bodied and the hops is definitely in there, but any bitterness is overwhelmed by the dominate malt. While good, I’d have liked to see the latter toned back a bit.

Molasses up the asses here boy’s! The aromatics on this one are very enticing. The frontal assault is very big. HeBrew has these big beers with plum, fig , date, prune flavors down to a science. I am hooked. Barleywineish. Bitter, sweet, sticky, coffee, dark fruit, burnt sugar and very slight coconut. Yum! Hold your opinion and let the beer warm! The alcohol blends well with the rich textures and flavors.

Rating #1900

2/15/2009: He’Brew Jewbelation Twelve (12th Anniversary Ale) seems to slide out of the bottle rather than pour out. It has a deep chesnut brown color with a dark beige head. The smooth and roasty aroma that has hints of chocolate and hops. The aroma reminds me of a Doppelbock. Wow, this beer tastes awesome! Flavors of chocolate, heavily caramelized mats with lots of depth and hints of citrus hops (the malt and other flavors dominated) excite the tastebuds. There is a slightly roasty finish like cappaccino and mocha. The alcohol is nearly completely hidden. This beer is strong and robust with a certain smoothness. It is full-bodied, smooth, creamy, and almost chewy. This is an EXCELLENT beer! I love the Jewbelation beers and Twelve does not disappoint!

1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle (Brewed with 12 malts and 12 hops / 12% Alc. by Vol.). Rating #200 for this beer.

I think I like this beer more the second time around. Poured out a very dark brown with red hues, a small but concentrated light toffee coloured cap with very long rim retention and lots of neat looking speckled lacing. The aroma is a huge pile of stuff - probably too many ingredients to sort out what is there but I am not complaining. Chocolate, molasses, raspberries, toffee, berries, jagermeister, cooked glazed ham, sweet in places, mild amount of roast. Overall it is not an aroma blast - somehow the incredible power of this beer stays harnessed. The taste is pretty much in the same league as the aroma as it has so many flavours that I think a lot of them are just cancelled out. Huge malt contingency here to go along with lots of dark, sweet fruit and molasses, a bit of bakers chocolate, souring red wine (not bad but the best way to describe this one flavour), raisins, roasted malts, raspberry flavoured chocolate, tobacco - not the mellow side but the spicier side of it, burnt sugar. Nothing previous is in any strength order like I usually put - shit just kept jumping out all over the place with this concoction. Still, somehow through all of it this has stayed mellow enough to consume with relative quickness but maybe it’s the fact that I’m listening to Waking Up Dead by Megadeth... Super thick and oily beer which in this case was expected and accepted. Finishes long with only a hint of alcohol. 12%? Where? Nothing harsh at all.

Nice suprise here. Smell is soy sauce, roasted cocoa (like burnt chocolate bread pudding), raisins, and vanilla cookie dough. Flavor is very muted with raisins coming through and heavy caramel malt and alcohol. Mouthfeel is luxurious in texture but not so much in body, I would call it medium bodied but very rich. Nice brew. Thanks Old Saratoga. 2009 22 oz.

on tap @ redlight redlight for christmas in july. 6 month old keg, Chocolate, molasses with traces of coffee on the nose, dark fruits, plums as well. Pours black with a thin tan head. Very rich and thick mouthfeel, molasses and rich toffee, with hints of chocolate and some coffee. Its definitely mellowed a little, mostly malt flavors coming through, hints of piney hops in the finish, which adds to a bit of a tobacco flavor. Not as oily as it was fresh but i think its a bit more drinkable now.

A Mes rate. Draught at the Rake.
Rich and thick, very dark amber with an excellent and lasting beige head. Good looking beer. A glorious nose. Big, biiiig cheesy complex malt. Slight pig farm that REALLY makes it. The flavour fails to deliver what the aroma promised. Sooooo much bitter caramel malt and alcohol. All brawn and no finesse. Cheesy funk sorts it out a bit but it’s just totally over powering itself. Complex malt finish has excellent length but it’s just killed by the massiveness. Cut in half it would be lovely but that’s really not what this is about. Entertaining as hell but not as good as it could be.
