larryLSB (139), La Selva Beach, California, USA Nov 6, 2009 Poured from 12 oz., dark brown with small tan head. Nose of raisins, sweet malt, with just a bar hint of hops. Taste is cola like, easy to drink, not too memorable. SamGamgee (1395), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Nov 5, 2009 12oz bottle. Brown with a lasting beige head. Vague toasted malt aroma with a light plastic-bag quality and some fruity, grainy sweetness. The flavor is just boring brown ale with sweet, light toffee, and some very lightly "nutty" roasty aspects. Low on the hops and bitterness. Med-light body with decent texture. Just a weird, almost cooked flavor overriding everything. Sadly, just another boring brown. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Oct 31, 2009 poured brown imagine that like a cola with no head at all to speak of aromas were of caranel malts and faint hops taste is very clean and smooth not vad nice he brew Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Oct 24, 2009 Pours brown with a tan head. A smooth malty ale with no bitterness. Not dry or complex just smooth. benpickens (129), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Sep 29, 2009 Dark brown slight to nonexistent head. Familiar cola wet bark aroma and nice malt backgrounds. Not nearly as nice as Dogfish Head Indian Brown - personal opinion - because of less hops. planky84 (98), , Greater London, England Sep 22, 2009 Bottle from Utobeer market stall. Pours dark brown with a beige head, vanishes swiftlly. Good carbonation. Aromas of toffee, vanilla, dates, raisins. Flavours of roasted malts, caramel, black treacle. licorice, bitter chocolate. Finishes bitter, malty and slightly hoppy. Not too bad. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Sep 14, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Dark ruby red with a fizzy brown head that disappears quickly. Flavor is light but rather roasty with a good amount of caramel and toffee malts present. Flavor is roasty at the front with a smooth transition to a sweet caramel malt middle and then a roasty and bitter finish. Some coffee-like notes near the end.
