Commercial Description:
Contract brewed for Schmaltz Brewing Company. A deep, bold nut brown ale beautifully balanced with rich dark malts and a complex hop character converging to reveal a simply enchanting elixir.

Brown with light, vanishing head / Sweet, molasses-caramel nose / Medium body, watery, with somewhat cloying sticky malts, with fair finish / Simple, clumsy flavors of burnt molasses and caramel / Well below average.

Brownish color. Smell of malt, hops, nuts, syrup and caramel. Taste of roasted nuts, caramel, hops, bread, sugar and a high amount of malt.

Nice aroma, head doesn’t hang around long, thin mouthfeel. Lots of chocolate, sweet malt, hops to balance. A nice brown ale, but I wish it had more mouthfeel to it. I’d like to try it on tap, might improve my rating.

Dark reddish brown, with ever so slight notes of molassess and honey and cola and herbs. Flavor is woodsy, with notes of rye, as well. Rather earthy and smokey, too.

Nicely done little brown ale...another flagship that provides cash for bigger and better things. Good and light nutty roast hints with a well done malt aspect. And that’s that.

Bottle. Opaque, probably as mush due to haziness as blackness. Some hoppy aromas seems unexpected for a Brown Ale (Cascade?). Slight hops on the tongue as well. Tastes like their APA but darker, with some roasty malts. Not sure if it melds together. Light-ish bod.

Tastes and smells like a typical brown ale, not special. An ok beer, little sweet, little malty, little hopy. Flavor is full at first but drops off at the end. Not a bad beer.

This dark brown pour smells of coffee, dark malts, and chocolate. It is light and smooth but has a little bit of a hop bite with a roasted flavor.
