| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Pours a very dark brown, almost as dark as a stout, with a small amount of bubbly tanish head that quickly dissapates. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and slight citric hops which makes for a nice combo. Flavor is slightly roasted malt flavor and slight citric hops. Light mouthfeel. Overall, pretty good. blankboy (3207), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Bottle (12oz) shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very deep ruby with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, nuts, caramel and maple syrup. Flavour of toasted caramel malt, nuts and brown sugar -- a little too sweet. Medium bodied. Not bad, a decent Brown Ale. HogTownHarry (4006), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 28, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy. Clear ruby, small frothy off-white head. Vegetal roasty aroma. Vaguely sweet roasty taste, a little metallic, thin and flat - no thanks. thill25 (218), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 26, 2008 12 oz bottle...poured an opaque brown, w/ a slight tan head. ..no lacing. Nose was soap mixed with toasted nuts and malts. Flavor was the same...Palate was bitter and harsh. Not something I’ll ever try again... DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 26, 2008 This beer is good, but really too similar to other beers of the style. It is not so complex, but it is hoppy. Not very thick like Guinness though. tomhenderson (127), Carolinas area, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 Very dark amber that is crystal clear. Flowers dominate the aroma with some sweet malt underneath. Flavor has roasty and sweet malt but not overwhelming. The sweetness is nicely balanced by non-descript hops. Not a bad brown ale but lacks personality that would make it unique.

Taste is sweet roasted malt with enough bitterness to give it some balance. Overall a bit on the sweet side but quite enjoyable. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA

I’m going to assume the brewers are Jewish as I’m not sure anyone else could get away with it. Now on to the beer. It’s got a medium head with some legs. Flavor is malty with a dry finish that’s really quite nice. Unlike many here, I like a good brown ale once in awhile and this is a good brown ale. It won’t blow you away, but I don’t think it will disappoint either. Huzzah!
