Nice malty aroma, with some coffee, caramel and an underlying roastiness. Body is a bit thin but mouthfeel was creamy. Roasty flavor, a bit more coffee, hint of chocolate. Bitter finish. I thought this was a pretty good brown. JamesCrosson (36), Fair Lawn, New Jersey, USA

I enjoyed it, but I enjoy everything I get with my beer of the month club. That being said, wouldn’t necessarily look for again; unless I have having a Hanukkah party. DSG (1514), Tel Aviv, Israel

Malty aroma with some roastiness, some nuts and hints of caramel. Sweetish malty flavor with a bit of roastiness and a bit of nuts. A dry and mildly roasted finish. Medium-bodied. Nice. bridgetek (9), Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 26, 2007 Looks impressive, pors dark, smells great with honey and sweetness, but lacks body in my opinion. Very drinkable, but nothing exceptional. imzugzug (103), Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, USA

I believe it wil be a once and done for me. Not saying it’s awful but I guess it’s not one of my bests. Nice dark pour with a briefly lasting caramel looking head. Aroma is malty with tons of honey goodness. Mouthfeel was a bit of a disappointment for me. I expected it to be more full bodied. It’s not. What it is is a light, crisp drinkable ale with some pretty decent flavors that leave you a little on the dry side. Definitely not a drain pour for me. but one I won’t be buying again. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours dark coffee brown w/ a modest, fast receding head and a full, thing ring. Strong aromas of meaty leather and thick pastey malts. Full nectar w/ good carbonation. Big roasty malts w/ flavors of coffee bean, maple, mocha, and mild leather. The finish is bittered mildly. It’s a fairly simple brew but very tastey indeed. LinusStick (1846), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Pour was a nice medium brown with a 2 finger off white head. Taste had a lot of roastiness to it. Caramel malt with some nut in the aftertaste. The taste fills your whole mouth. Perfect carbonation. Excellent brown ale.
