Commercial Description:
Contract brewed for Schmaltz Brewing Company. A deep, bold nut brown ale beautifully balanced with rich dark malts and a complex hop character converging to reveal a simply enchanting elixir.

bottle poured a nutty brown in color with good initial carbination. smell is caramel, nutty, malts, and light roast. taste is slightly thin on the mouth feel, malts, nut brown in flavor and slightly hoppy. out of the hebrew beers this is my least favorite so far.

Aroma is caramel and woody. Dark brown color, good lacing. Taste is smoke and ash, with just a touch of cherry.. Not sour, bitter, or sweet, but manages to balance a little of each. Smoky hop finish, that gets woddier upon warming. Extremely well balanced but lacks strength and a wow factor. Uprated for perfect balance. Nicely done.

In the bottle from Beertopia. Pours black with a thin off white head that looks white from the contrast. Thin body and surprisingly boring. This definitely is my least favorite He’Brew beer. Mild roasted taste, but little else. A snoozer.

Tap at HDG. Dark brown beer, creamy tan head. Deep malty aroma with earthy chocolate and soft herbal hoppiness in the nose. Woody flavour with light caramel and toasted malt. Bitter and fairly astringent. Lightly caramelly/plummy with a bit of earthy bitterness. Meh.

Sweeter aroma then the ones I usually go for, a slight hint of hops hiding behind a caramel/nutty aroma. Pours a dark reddish-brown, with a fluffy white head. Yep, there’s the nutty notes, and just a wisp of hops lurking behind it. A drinkable beer, but not one I’ll be going for again.

Pours a deep cherrywood color with small swiftly dissipating head. Bock-like maltiness in the nose and also ripe mamey and medjool fruits. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated but nicely chewy. Flavors include date, halvah, and dark bread. Malty and mild.
re-rate. Opaque black-brown with very little tan head. Mild malty nose a lot like kvas. Raisins predominate. Low carbonation, gentle mouthfeel, medium body with thin finish. Very malty. A little sweet but really smooth, round with a touch of roast in the finish like bread crust.

Bottle. Aroma is nutty, malty, burnt malt aroma. Pours dark brown with a thin head. Quite creamy, smooth. Flavor is malty, nutty, creamy, well-balanced with a touch of hoppiness.
